Hello!

So what do you get when you mix sex, drugs and over the top violence?  My average Saturday night (haha, I wish 😄).  But seriously, you get a Keeper of Secrets.  They are the Greater Daemons of Slaanesh who in turn is the Chaos God of lust, excess and all the forbidden gratifications that mortals crave.  Technically He/She/It also covers beauty, perfection and excellence in all pursuits like art, martial skill and sports.  Although, I've never met anyone who cared about those aspects of She Who Thirsts.

I don't think it's possible to make a parent friendly description of Slaanesh's origins but here it goes.  Before the age of the Imperium, it was the Eldar (space elves) who reigned supreme.  Their race once had it all, the technology, the armies, super long life spans and no real opponents to challenge their superiority.  As such, their race began turning to decadent activities to escape the boredom of their lives.  Think of the stuff Caligula and Nero were infamous for, multiply it by a billion and you'd still not reach the heights the Eldar devolved into.  Due to how warp mechanics work in 40K, this really messed up the immaterium, something the Eldar should have known but ignored.  To grossly simplify things, their debauchery gave birth to the new Chaos god Slaanesh.  Like a metaphorical volcano, her birth scream instantly destroyed the Eldar empire, dragging whole worlds and countless eldar souls into the immaterium.  A whole bunch of other stuff happened but the lasting effects were the decline of the Eldar race, the death of most of their warp pantheon and a lasting wound in realspace known as the Eye of Terror.  On the bright side, they basically laid out a red carpet for the Emperor and His Great Crusade so...thanks?  

Anyways Keepers of Slaanesh are the most powerful servants/extensions of Slaanesh and the most diverse looking Greater Daemons.  Each one is a unique creation of the Dark Prince, that is formed depending on He/She/It's mood.  So you can have a Keeper of Secrets of unearthly beauty or something that looks incredibly grotesque.  I looked through the different editions and chose some of the heads that I think encapsulates Slaanesh's fickle mood.  I also included one version which I think would be close to how Slaanesh would be depicted if He/She/It ever had any official art.  

Now that I have the Emperor and Keeper of Secrets fleshed out, I'll move on to making their poses.  Great Crusade, here we come!
