Hey everyone, how's september treating y'all?

With page 14 being up, we finally got to finish the first chapter! If you still didn't get to read it, you can start from here! Have you been liking it? I'd love to know what you think!

First chapters are so challenging... you can't go straight to the point, have to set up the setting and the world - but you have to be mindful of the balance of how much you show and how much you tell... it has to be effective to hook the reader!!! first impressions are powerful and scary.

It's also my first colored comic project, and I can say it's a learning experience, but very difficult! For instance, most of the first chapter is on a magenta background, a color I find difficult to work with.

The chapter 02, Roundabout Masquerades is on the works right now! I'm done with script revision done from a writer friend and am already working on the first pages.

In the meantime, I'll post process pictures for the pages from the first chapter. That way I can share a bit of what I learnt in the process!

Also I need your input with the following!

To avoid burnout, I've been thinking on having topics to doodle between working on pages. One of the things I have in mind is a "constellation redux" series where I tackle minor constellations unpretentiously, for the All stars in the sky project

But I've been thinking on being open to requests for themes from you! That could be cool, right?

I think that you have avoided one common pitfall of webcomics, which is that webcomic authors frequently plan out their work page to page which leads to lack of flow across pages, and often stilted pacing. I think you have managed to pack a lot of happening (and world building and characterization) into a reasonably small number of pages, which makes the pace feel adequately snappy. I feel like with each page I am learning multiple new things, and that is how I like it, especially at the beginning of a comic!

That's definitely a relief, ace!!!! 😭😭😭 Those were some of my worst fears regarding the comic so that's very nice to know, man!!
