One of the main characteristics of the main trio is that they're from completely different nations! I wanted to spoil a bit about the aesthetics and inspiration behind them to you... To solidify the overall themes of my setting I wanted to experiment with how the people that are from it look - which led me making an NPC bank with +25 designs for each nation, which I'll post as I go along.

That way I don't need to stress over background characters! Actually I made a single row comprising of 5~9 bases and adapted the palette and different heads for those bases, creating variations.

Let's see the nations for now, shall we?!

First we have where our story will happen, the alchemist's country - The Great Empire of Anthuria! The aesthetics here can definitely track back to victorian, but I like to say the main themes is 1890-1930 european fashion and botanical folk art. They do look kinda british but overall, I want them to look vaguely european - you can tell it's from there but not really pick where. Lots of earthy tones and greens, brings flowers and plants bursting from the ground to mind. From the three nations, I've made the most Anthurians (as it's where the story will mainly happen!)

Secondly we have the monk's country - Eidolonesia! This nation has a retrofuturism theme and 90s-2000s aesthetics. Eidolonesians are clad in a mixture of traditional clothing mixed with futuristic urban clothing, with striking neon color accents.

Then we have the country where the Actor is from - the Kemetlands! The aesthetics for this one is 70s-80s, art deco, egyptian and heavily geometric motifs. Kemetians wear colorful clothing, and even the more dull ones are considered colorful in comparison.

As a status update, I've finally designed the alchemy gadget!!!! I actually finished it yesterday, 2AM. I only need to polish a few elements - such as the final detail for the character clothes (I SETTLED FOR A HEAD FOR THE ALCHEMIST. IT WAS THIS WEEK AS WELL.), but I'm mostly ready to print my script, study it, and start thumbnailing. Wish me luck everyone!!!
