Final one for this side project!!! I really don't know what motivated me to go through it but here we go LOL

Tiradentes was a leading member of a movement called Inconfidência mineira, that aimed independence from Portugal and the institution of the Brazilian republic.

The authorities got hang of it though, and publicly hanged. His body was butchered into pieces, salted and sent to areas where this ideology spread out... A goresome moment of our history!!

> Went for this gestural start! really wanted each limb to have its own movement, along with the long flowy hair.

> structure pass!! The floating torso was quite fun to do! Initially I went with a pointy helmet....that in retrospect would look better, but a finished piece is done, I can put that up as knowledge  in the next work, right!

>polish polish! notice the helmet changed and he had visible eyes.... it looks kinda digimonish like this?

> First lineart! But you know what, I didn't like the legs gesture that much tbh.

> ...So I honestly just moved them around! it was a bit tricky but I managed it in the end LOL also notice I started testing with how the swords would light up

> worked the swords out, and I painted everything black just for the aesthetic.... looks cool right! Wish they popped out like that in the final product tho hehe

> Color sketch!!! notice there was gold AND silver.... I opted to go for full gold while I worked on it!

> Also here's the cloth tests for Sebastião! The "ã" has a nasal noise (like the one you do with the spanish ñ), so it sounds like "sebastiawn". It's the portuguese equivalent to Sebastian LOL

> Also another one for the tarot cards in cordel style  I did for this series! this one is The Hanged Man!

I’m living for these character designs floatie! The references of these historical figures and the general concepts behind the personas are mindbogglingly awesome!

Ace the Dawg

The way the disembodied limbs are contorted is so good! I think it captures that signature persona uncanniness
