December Pin-up - Braum, Heart of the Freljord! (Patreon)

 Hey everyone!

 Hope you all had happy holidays! Next up is the new year... The end of the year is always such a mess right! 

 Here's the pin-up for this month, I've always wanted to draw Braum, so I'm glad I was able to work with him this time!

 Let's get to the process, shall we?

>This time I noticed I've always been doing scenes, so I wanted to try a character-centric piece, which means the characters is the sole focus of the picture. Started it rough, already minding the proportions of his body. I've researched his concept art, and he's always depicted kinda differently, specially the face?! So I took my liberties with it

> After the rough structure pass, I sketched a bit more in the anatomy pass. I think it's funny that in the rough, the poros are just circles lol! Also notice I moved his spine back to get a bit less stiff and get a bit more dynamic, even if it's a still pose.

>Setting up his armor! the big ass shoulder plate covered his flexing arm which is a shame... but I try not to get bummed by cloth covering stuff, it's literally meant to do that right!

>Working out his head. I wanted a very manly jaw and a big stache!

> Now everything is at its place! It's the final sketch, time for starting the lineart.

> Lineart done... The background is kind of minimalist this time!

> Color sketch! I really appreciate the character colors after doing this little study, The hearty browns against a dark powdery blue is really cute.

> Flats!

> Rendered the background. I've been trying to tackle the background before I tackle the character to avoid major color mistakes! After all the background sets up the color mood.

> Hard shadows laid down!
