Felt like working on one of these again! Head's been kinda messy and the concept for those are all kinda already done in my head so I just to have get tem out. <:

This one may look weird to some of you hehe! It's based on the Cangaço, a banditism phenomenon that occurred in the northeastern region of brazil. It's pronounced "Kan-gah-so" - Usamericans are always perplexed when they find out the existence of "Ç" in portuguese lol, it's the c-cedilla.

The excerpt from wikipedia resuming it is as it follows:

"Cangaço was the banditism phenomenon of Northeast Brazil in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This region of Brazil is known for its aridness and hard way of life, and in a form of "social banditry" against the government, many men and women decided to become nomadic bandits, roaming the hinterlands seeking money, food and revenge."

It's a lovely topic of my history and culture! Also did you see it's written aridness? The second biggest biome in Brazil is the world's most biodiverse savanna. Brazil isn't just just jungles and forests <<<:

I love cangaceiro outfits, lots of protective light gear and leather, adorned with symbols of mystical protection such as the star of solomon. They sported rifles and daggers, and knew a lot about the land they lived in. They could go on for months in extremely dry and desolate lands, as they knew how to get water out of roots and plants.  I always wanted to see cangaceiros as a job or class for some game, so I guess I gotta do what I want to see!

Amongst cangaceiros, the most famous ones are the couple, Lampião (Oil Lamp), the "King of the Cangaço" and Maria Bonita (Beautiful Mary). They have the status of folk heroes!

They all met a grim fate - the commanders were captured, beheaded and their heads exposed in public to threaten the other members of the movement. This picture is in our story books but beware - it's gorey and unsettling if you're sensitive!!!!!

I admit I always have unexpected fun writing about the motifs I work with LOL so that's for context, if you read it I hope you had fun! NOW FOR THE ACTUAL ART....

>Making the base! I usually fuss about detail in all steps, but this time I made a more chill base without many details. Like her breasts, I just did the suggested volume! Also I think I made her mouth to big on the start.... her face and expressions really don't work with a big mouth for the personality I wanted her to give off. A mean face like that, coupled with a big mouth would feel like she uses it a lot - by talking too much!! I want her to just look pissed and serious overall LOL

> For her persona.... setting up tiny details. I wanted her to have an oil lamp for a head! Also check the rifle - she uses one of those early 20th century ones that didn't have one of those essential parts to rest on the body like I did on the first sketch.

> Final sketch! I like how her face is kind of just a mask and isn't actually proportioned to the rest of her head.

> all those little studs and riffle ammo proved to be an ASS to finish to be very honest,,,,,, I wasn't feeling my best but I pushed it!

> If drawing those tiny details wasn't already testing my patience, imagine individually rendering them LMAO I admit i didn't went into super meticulous work this time, as I was already very stressed. I think it's nice to push it sometimes when you're stressed, so you can actually sharpen your patience and drive. Thouuuugh this time I think I was just being stupid, I HAVE TO LEARN TO CHILL

> Color sketch! your best friend. I wanted a very heavy, dark, even kinda metal feel to her design.

>And with flats..... the metallic effects popped out more!
