Sadaf, the Jinn of Pearls. An aesthetic oriented jinn with an eye for beauty, conflicts between men and demons doesn't interest him. What does interest him though is the enormous debt Musmus has with him, which Azhar has to help paying up by buying in his shop!

He's the shopkeeper character, where you buy cards for your deck. This one is mostly original by me and wasn't agreed to actually exist in the game - but I like him so much and wanted to treat him well (((:

Let's start the step by step shall we! ;^)

> Laying down the first sketch! He's a shortstack, and I particularly wanted to lay down some key elements of his design: the coin purse turban, the single long nail and his goblin shark inspired face! (if you're creeped out by abyss marine life don't click it okie!!!)

> Gesture is done, let's lay down the structure. I decided to change his legs so he can look more fancy! After doing the body, I laid down his clothes. I always like to draw the body first, but some people can wing drawing clothes without it. I honestly think it helps me figuring out how the fabric will behave!

> Lineart without any weight, and a weight pass. See how it pops!

> Now I'm thinking about the composition... Initially i just thought of pearls floating around as bubbles, But then I decided to go with a seashell ornament to spice it up! Wanted it to look like a shop somehow

> Shadows!

> Color sketch! Figuring our which shade of purples I want. Something going towards red pleases me more, as it reminds me one of my inspirations for him, which would be tyrian purple which is an ancient pigment that is made out of sea snails!

>  His "metal" is nacre or mother of pearl, and rendering it is super difficult!!!! I still have to figure it out, but i noticed it has purple AND green highlights, which I'd have to balance on a very purpley pic. Here you can see how monochromatic purple his design is, so i ended up playing with some green overlays as I finished it.
