Important: Patreon reward tier changes after Steam Early Access launch (Patreon)
Content
Hello all!
With Steam Early Access launch right around the corner, it's time to announce the specifics about the upcoming changes to the GHPC Patreon reward tiers.
First of all, the support you've all given us up until now has been vital to the success of the project, and we want to thank you sincerely. Through the contributions of several thousand dedicated supporters, GHPC has been able to grow from one man's side hobby to a serious game project. That's incredibly cool, and it inspires us to push forward every day.
Now on to business. The patron rewards will be changing alongside the Steam launch on September 6:
The itch demos for GHPC (both public and Patreon) will be deactivated and no longer supported, as previously announced. If you previously downloaded a copy, you will be able to play it locally. All future development of GHPC will be distributed via Steam until further notice. As previously announced, patrons who have contributed at least $25 USD in lifetime donations will receive a Steam key (those on the list so far have been sent notification emails recently).
The ability to add your name to the credits will no longer be available. If you're an IFV tier patron and want to be listed there, tell us what name you'd like now, before September.
APC tier ($3) will no longer provide demo access. It will retain the Discord role, giving access to exclusive channels and direct communication with the devs.
IFV tier ($5) will be retired. Existing IFV tier patrons will have identical benefits to the new APC tier. New patron names will no longer be added to the credits.
MBT tier ($10) will no longer provide demo access or addition to the credits. Other rewards, including the Github activity feed on Discord, will remain in place. A new reward will be added: access to exclusive early WIP teasers and development stream recordings (see CAS tier).
CAS tier will be added at $25. This tier will grant access to exclusive development hangout streams on Discord. During these streams, we'll be live demoing and testing upcoming features and chatting with the community. CAS tier patrons will be able to participate in these sessions live.
The previously announced intent of a closed build testing tier is no longer planned. Instead, we may occasionally open up Steam Beta branches or Steam Playtest runs. Patrons will be notified of these plans ahead of time and have the best chance of getting in, but anyone will be able to join, per the mechanics of Steam's testing systems.
That should pretty much cover it! In other news, we're planning to release a small bugfix patch for the itch demos before Steam Early Access launch. This will be the last update for those demos. As previously stated, all GHPC development will now proceed on Steam for the foreseeable future.
Thank you again for supporting us, and we look forward to taking GHPC to new and exciting places in the future!
