I was lucky that my 20th shooting with Martina coincided with my will to experiment with my Profoto A1 flashlight, because the apartment was really dark!!!
On the first floor of a condo, with frosted glass at the windows and white curtains, so people couldn't look inside.
The apartment was also very small, so I used exclusively the Nikkor 50mm f1.4 AF-D on the Nikon D810.
The flash light + the Japanese 36MP sensor were providing a cold and clinical look to the pictures, so I am infusing some extra warmth through the toning of light and shadows in Lightroom.
I also decided to keep this toning in the BW version of the photos, because I like it.
I used to tone my BW film pictures back when I was in my 20ties, and I'v also been toning my digital monochromes for some time, but I barely ever done so with digital nudes, as far as I remember...
I didn't tone nudes BW because I didn't want to be left out from sharing my pictures with groups (on Facebook or Flickr) that were radical BW extremists, but nowadays I don't care any more, and I want this specific shooting with Martina to stand out from all of the previous ones.

Not sure if 20 is a special anniversary, but in my project it is a fundamental milestone I may not reach with any other model, so I have to celebrate in some way, especially because Martina was as stunning as ever before, and we have to acknowledge this achievement of nature!
The apartment was not memorable in any way, and the equipment I used, albeit of great quality, is a kind of step back from my progress in natural light photography.
So I hope this toned BW pictures can make this specific shooting with Martina stand out, make it something memorable and different, and I might extend this treatment to all of the BW pictures from this set.

Stay tuned for tomorrow, as I'm going to show you a special homeware present in this apartment, completely out of context, but useful to make some singular pictures.
Monday I'm going to post 2 more photos from this shooting, one on my regular social media feed, and one on DA for subscribers only.

Is it just me or do you you want to gently brush the wayward strands of hair of her face. The toned BW works well. It adds a little warmth, that pictures of Martina should always have.

The photos look excellent you’ve done a great job. As for Martina there are few words left to describe her beauty. She’s quite exceptional 😍
