Yesterday I anticipated that today I was going to post one of the last photos I took with the aid of a flash, to show you the advantages of this technique over the natural light I normally use.

The main advantage I want to point out is the exceptional quality you can get with flashes, because of the medium apertures you can afford to use with so much light, that in turn ensures the optimal output from any lens you're using, and also ensures an additional depth of field with everything appearing sharp and in focus, and also ensures enough light to maximise the quality associated with lower ISO settings!
Mind you in this photo of Esther I was using the old sensor of the Leica M240, which is still capable of great results, in the ideal conditions.

I still prefer the natural light approach with the organic fall off off in sharpness from the areas of major interest, to the background.
But in the situations where I will be forced to use the flash light (like the next shooting with Sugar), we can at least benefit from the numerous advantages this light provides, and see the body of this model in the finest detail or, if you prefer, in a different light!

Great picture (technically and artistically).
