**HEARTFELT HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

I am REALLY enjoying the dynamic building between the seemingly ageless Frieren and the young Mage-to-Be Fern! Two characters from opposite ends of the spectrum who find common ground in their love and devotion to magic!

This episode felt like "Kiki's Delivery Service" meets "Dungeons and Dragons" in the BEST way possible...and glad to know I was wrong about Heiter and that Himmel continues to be Best Boy from beyond the grave...

Heiter didn't want to die now because he had Fern to take care of T-T That's some good level of trickery, he found something to keep Frieren occupied and have her live with them for a while, so she could teach Fern things, she didn't even suspect anything till the end. In one dinner scene Heiter is throwing food from his plate to Frierens, that's cute. Details, like them learning a spell to remove rust and then using it to clean up Himmel's statue, are all scattered throughout the show, they are small but I enjoy details like that! "There was a field of them recently" "That was decades ago!" perfectly represents Frierens view on time lol I love also how this episode shows Ferns feelings - like of course you would get frustrated, especially when your own time is limited and you don't live forever, that in your view Frieren would spend so much time on something that doesn't exist - but we can understand Frieren also, to her finding these flowers is important and personal. And Frieren petting Ferns head is adorable, Heiter used to do it to Frieren too, two times in the first episode, so that got carried over to Fern! Great Discussion, looking forward to next week ^^

The Flower scene really is one of my favorite scene even in the manga, it really represent what Frieren is about for me, it warm my heart, Himmel is just so likable as a character and its so tragic that such a good person is gone.... "Why do you collect spell ? " " Because an idiot complimented the spell a gathered..." I am not crying.... Also i love Heiter and i love the little twist with the book. I left a comment on youtube about all the seiyuu until now if you want to know more but i will say one thing again here, Himmel's seiyuu is Nobuhiko Okamoto ( Bakugo / Nishinoya / Shin - ah ect. ) I find this seiyuu really impressive because his voice is so soft when he does character like Himmel and Shin-ah when you compare to his most popular exemple Bakugo, such a great seiyuu.

Ooohhhhhhhhhhh, wow, BAKUGO'S VA is Himmel?! That's hilarious -- I'm sure he's happy to give his vocal chords a break! XD And yes, Himmel making us swoon and breaking our hearts from beyond the grave! "Beyond Journey's End," eh? I just love the soft and grandeur nature of the story! It's so wonderful! Thank you for the info and kind words and comment! :D

I love the twist with how he "tricked" Frieren -- and him throwing the vegetables to her plate at dinner? What a trickster. Corrupt Priest, indeed! ;) And yes, Frieren and Fern with two different outlooks on time is so interesting! Love seeing that with them! Thank you so much for the kind words and comment and YES! VERY excited for next week! :D

While I think Heiter would never have regretted saving Fern's life per se, what she could mean is that if Heiter felt that he didn't do a good job raising her, he might think he should have found someone else to raise her instead. Fern wants to prove to him that he did the right thing both with saving her and choosing to raise her himself. It seems Fern knew some magic before she met Heiter, but I'd like to think that the scene where she shows the butterfly spell to Heiter is what makes her fully commit to it. She chose magic because she saw how happy it made Heiter to see her do magic. That would illustrate the similarities between Frieren and Fern very well, as part of why Frieren collects spells is because Himmel enjoyed seeing them. I love how learning certain "random" spells isn't actually random at all. When we find out that she learned a spell to clean bronze statues, it initially seems silly. But she knows there are statues of Himmel out there and this makes it possible for her to make sure they're properly maintained. I also like how this show takes certain qualities that are generally considered negative and portrays them from a different light. Frieren admits that her respecting the memories of Himmel is self-serving - but that's alright, she is still doing a beautiful thing. Frieren admits that her reasoning is silly - but that's alright, it can still be important to her. Even though calling Heiter corrupt was a little bit comedically exaggerated, he was not really a model priest - but that's alright, his heart was still in the right place.

That definitely makes sense with Fern – I sort of thought that as well but it may have been hard to illustrate in the discussion! :) Thanks for saying that here! Yeah, I have no idea (and don’t want to be spoiled in case it comes out later) but I’m happy that she definitely chose magic. 🙂 And of course, Frieren learning all these “random” spells are actually just ways for her to connect more with her former team. That’s sweet! And yes, the idea of being self-serving, but doing it for the right reason is a nice thing to be shown in the show as well! Thanks for the comment!
