This episode is so sad, Nanami isnt top 5 for me and I am crying like a baby. I cant imagine how sad others would feel. Yuji really gone thru so much, the past hour for him was worse than hell. Each episode I understand more and more why Geto went on his path, if me as an outsider felt that much emotions, no wonder Geto would go depressed and try to fix things. Jujutsu world is too curel.

Femme!Panda cosplay 😍 I loved the effect of having things that were said in previous episodes going round and round in Itadori's head as he walks around alone, especially with how they sounded kind of echoey to really hit home just how alone Itadori is in that moment. Fantastic depiction of how for some people during their worst moments, being alone with their own thoughts can actually hurt way more. My second re-watch of that scene I did try and play a little game with myself of trying to remember what scenes those lines came from. Huge props to Tsuda, he did an amazing voice at voicing just how tired Nanami was 🥲 He sounded so dang good but it was hurting too much to be properly thankful for it during the episode. Also think it was a really good choice for it to be silent from the moment we learn Mahito's touching Nanami. But we did not need the splat noise afterwards 😭😭😭 And you really don't get given a moment to grieve, making us the viewers in the same boat as Itadori because he's still in the midst of a dangerous situation. The first time Itadori calls Mahito by his name is in a scream of abject agony and grief... I gotta say I love how they use space in fights in Jujutsu Kaisen, whether it's a wide open space or an enclosed one. And items around the place can get used in no holds barred fights. Adds that little bit of realism when they're also using curse techniques. That scene with the curses felt like a nice bit of levity until you realise 1) that's where all the skeletons inside Dagon came from, and 2) half of them are now dead and I'd really appreciate another of their number joining that tally (Choso can stay though 😆). I love that Kugisaki's main issue with Mahito is how he's messed with Itadori. I just love their friendship 🥺🥰 Akutami *please* don't make Itadori lose one of his best friends immediately after the loss of his mentor (technically mentors plural with Gojo currently sealed away) 🙏The change-up Shimazaki did with Mahito's voice when saying he likes Kugisaki, and that she's worth killing, was so good; loved that. Has to have been the most serious we've ever heard him, and gives a little touch of Mahito not liking her calling him out for having ran away before. But it also makes me even more concerned for Kugisaki, because he seems much less playful in the way a predator can be with it's prey, which is how he's acting around Itadori. Shh Romania, we can totally still live in denial. That's what AU FanFics/FanArts are for 😅😭 Nanami's off on a beach in Malaysia with Haibara and nothing bad is happening at all... When you were talking about the "Don't die alone line" all I could think was Nanami didn't die alone. In his mind Haibara was with him, and Itadori was there 🥺😭 And with Nanami not being alone in that moment, he once again became the adult of adults and didn't curse Itadori or Haibara, even though he did still die with regrets. Reminded me a lot of Itadori's first meeting with Yaga and Yaga asking if Itadori would curse his grandfather when he was dying because he was in such a situation because of his grandfather's words. Jujutsu Kaisen is definitely that series that gives the vibe that pretty much no-one is safe. Itadori's the MC so he's likely to live, but at what cost, and in what state (mentally and physically) will he be in? And Fushiguro I'd put as somewhat safe because, like you said, Sukuna likes him. I say *somewhat* because if they aren't together then there's a slim chance of something happening and Sukuna not being able to help him (case in point when Fushiguro went suicidal though Sukuna already was in control and able to prevent Fushiguro from dying in that moment). But yeah, everyone else? I am trying to prepare my heart because Akutami wrote some great characters that already have a hold on my emotions. Mahito is truly evil for taking pleasure in tormenting Itadori, but I feel like it highlights the difference between him as a human curse and say Jogo who was a curse born from people's fear of fire. Jogo caused pain and destruction but he didn't slowly torture his victims or try to cause them psychological damage, whereas Mahito has done it from the beginning with Junpei and now Itadori. It would have been worse transfiguring Nanami and having him fight Itadori, but he already dealt a hard enough blow to Itadori by giving them that moment for Itadori's fear for Nanami to build up. Definitely got a lot of Star Wars reminders with this episode too for the fighting, but also for Itadori watching on as Mahito killed Nanami, just like Obi Wan Kenobi had to watch on as Darth Maul killed Qui-Gon Jinn. Though in thinking of that scene it leads me to hope that Itadori is able to gain vengeance and kill Mahito, like Obi Wan was able to kill Darth Maul.

I'm crying, Nanami didn't deserve this and especially Yuji didn't deserve this, he is not in a good mental state, why are we throwing trauma after trauma at him and how Nanami didn't want to say anything to Yuji because it would just end up as a curse for him, like his Grandfathers words, I can't express how sad I feel T-T On a more positive note, Nobara is really smart the way she started the fight without having to touch him, and is actually a good opponent to Mahito, since she is a ranged fighter, so she never has to come too close to Mahito, I hope they both (Yuji and Nobara) beat his ass. I'm anxious but also excited for next week ^^

Ahhh, thank you so much for the kind words and comment! I’m glad the Femme!Panda cosplay worked out! I feel so badly for Yuuji, stuck in his own head and who can blame him?! Tsuda – UGH – we potentially won’t have Tsuda in the series anymore and it HURTS. He did so good in this! The orchestra up until it was the moment of him and Mahito was amazingly done. But yes, no time to breathe – we end up in the same boat as Yuuji after his death. And Ohhhh, I didn’t realize that he called Mahito by his name! OOH! Damn… That is a great point about the realism in the fights of JJK with the space especially. Getting an explanation of the skeletons in Dagon was…”good” to finally get? Poor Choso, though; he looks like he doesn’t want to be there at ALL really. Seriously, though, Akutami had better NOT make Yuuji lose both his mentor, one of his best friends, (and potentially Megumi to the demon inside him hahahaha) – And oooohh, yes, he definitely was struck in the nerve by Nobara’s commentary…which makes me…VERY nervous for her, too! Mahito might not be “playful” with Nobara or take it easy on her and I’m scared of that a lot. Yes, let’s live in denial and I still have the fanfics to keep me satisfied, right? 😛 And yes, at least, Nanami had Haibara spiritually and Yuuji physically with him. The ADULT OF ADULTS, UGH, MY HEART. YES, NO ONE is safe and that includes Yuuji’s sanity! I just need Akutami to take pity on our souls, and I’m not sure that’s going to happen…and that’s a great point about Mahito as a human curse vs. others like Jogo. And yes, all the Star Wars vibes!
