Oohh, I was expecting things to get bleak and despairing for our boys on Team Z, but guess what? BACHIRA AIN'T GONNA LET THAT HAPPEN!  

Our Bee Boy claps back and helps to "awaken" Team Z, even though Isagi still isn't sure how he can fully contribute...he better figure it out quickly, though...I have a feeling Reo, Zantetsu, and Nagi (especially) are not going to let this loss happen easily...

Loved the reaction & discussion! The Zantetsu slander is hilarious and we have further development in the most complicated of all the Blue Lock relationships - Romania vs Raichi 😂 Bachira brings me joy any time he is in frame, his solution to Team Z's problem is so simple - 'we just have to be super-special, too.' This was a fun ep! BACHIRA MVP!! Raichi taking that throat chop with pride like a champ after taunting Reo and causing Reo to get a yellow card. I love how passionate and persistently annoying Raichi is at his job of defending vs. Reo despite wanting to play striker. He said his motivation was to win this match so he can play striker in future games, and I appreciate his optimism and dedication. And I’m happy that you’re loving Zantetsu, he’s so endearing and silly. Yeah, the word “genius” has been brought up a lot. The anime translates “tensai” to “genius.” “Tensai” also means “prodigy” or “natural talent.” So “genius” isn’t necessarily referring to intelligence or creativity. When I first watched this ep, I noticed that Nagi has the same jersey number 11 as Isagi. Totally fueling the Nagisagi ship! I’m always here to support the multishipping. So, in ep 1, it was shown that Isagi wore the 11 jersey in his high school team, and he’s shown to continue sporting the 11 number in Blue Lock. I think the author chose 11 because there’s 11 players in a soccer team and that was emphasized especially by Isagi’s HS coach. Also, since Isagi Yoichi’s name can be interpreted as “The world’s righteous” or “The world’s purest,” and "Yoichi" includes “ichi” or “one.” I think it’s fitting that 11 is composed of the number 1, so it can represent the team or the individual which is neat. I went on a bit of a tangent haha, but I love the parallel of Nagisagi’s jersey numbers. Last episode it was revealed that Zantetsu, Reo, and Nagi scored 5, 6, 7 goals, respectively, and their jersey numbers are 9, 10, 11 for Reo, Zantetsu, and Nagi, respectively. I like how these numbers are in a row, and I feel like it shows their unity and order which contrasts the ragtag team of Team Z. I also love their black jersey, which reminds me of Inarizaki and Touou, strong teams that are also given the color black. The name Team V for “Victory.” I’m rambling, but they’re just a very aesthetically pleasing team. It blew my mind how Reo and Nagi only started playing soccer 6 months ago. We learn that Reo and Nagi are incredibly talented and that they’ve only known each other for 6 months (assuming they started playing soccer immediately after they met) which surprised me considering how close they are. In the middle of the Isagi’s inner monologue, Nagi starts talking and asking Isagi questions out of nowhere and Isagi responds to Nagi’s question of “What motivates you so much?” with “Shut up, genius. I’m about to get to the good part!” I feel like Isagi is usually the one to get to know other people’s motivations like finding out from Kunigami that he wants to be a soccer superhero or when Isagi found out from Chigiri about his leg injury and was motivating Chigiri. So, I like that the opponent or antagonist tried to ask our protag what his motivation is. And I like how it was shown a little later in this ep that Nagi’s comment of “You’re so inefficient” unintentionally helped Isagi realize that he needs to “cut out the waste.” I don’t know much about soccer, but I’m going to geek out a bit about the cool soccer moves shown in this episode. They’re all real soccer moves and possible in real life. Nagi did a bicycle kick (or overhead kick) when he did a backflip to score the goal. I was so shocked when I found out this was a thing in soccer. Gagamaru attempted to score a goal with a scorpion kick (or reverse bicycle kick or back hammer kick). Bachira used ultra-fast step overs, a roulette, a lob, an air elastico, a heel flick (like Barou in ep 3), and scored with a rabona. What an insane sequence. Kunigami scored with a knuckleball, which I learned is also a baseball pitch when watching Daiya. Similar to the float serve in volleyball, there’s no spin. Lastly, Chigiri did a self pass. This ep must’ve been a dream for soccer fans haha.

BACHIRA IS SUCH AN MVP THIS EPISODE! Raichi is so good at aggravating someone to violence and then taking it for the team! 😛And yes, Zantetsu is a sweetie! Tensai – I think of Free! When I hear this, hahaha! But yes, referring to prodigies – fun times! And ahhh, the same number as Isagi – I would “like” to ship NagiSagi again, but ReoNagi has taken over my brain and I am not sure I could do that to Reo. 😛The tie in to #1 is really cool, though! And it ties to the consecutive goals for Team V, too. The symmetry is refreshing, right? Ramble away! 😛 ONLY 6 MONTHS AGO – that is insane for Reo and Nagi! @_@ But seriously, Reo and Nagi are just breezing into that established-probably-been-married-20-years level of relationship. And it was such a fourth wall breaking moment with Nagi questioning him – yes, Isagi is used to observing others and drawing inferences; he doesn’t think too much of himself, sadly, it seems, but Nagi gets him thinking about what HE needs to do, which is fun. The backflip bicycle kick was INSANITY! That was honestly one of my favorite moves in the series so far! And then Gagamaru and the “scorpion kick” was so cool, too! I love all these moves and how they work! Hahaha, you’re so right, I think any soccer fan was probably going crazy with this! Thank you for the kind words and comment!
