**ACE-WORTHY HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

After three seasons, and countless volumes...Whiteboard-kun makes his appearance to help me break down Ace of the Diamond! 

Because there is a LOT happening in this volume! Not only character backstory, development, and parallels -- but it's all combining among players from both teams in the most interesting of ways and it deserves some special attention! 

OH, and Sawamura FINALLY JOINS THE FRAY! My Sunshine Boy...I couldn't be prouder! How are we already in the 8th inning?! I'm not ready for this game to end!

Contrary to what it seems, Asou did get a full medical check up after he was brought off the field lol. Understandable to be worried about it but after all the injuries I don't think any of them would've let him into the game again if they weren't 100% positive he was okay lol. I love the times we get to see Miyuki and Furuya relating and connecting genuinely. Like you said I think Miyuki does really see himself in Furuya so it's easy for them to connect and understand eachother. It's always adorable to see them able to communicate without being overly vocal. I looooove the visual TJ does in this volume with Mei and Furuya being massive to the batters. Just the best visualization that they seem like these impossible walls for the respective teams to get over. Super cool. I'm never going to get over the parent flashbacks and moments in this game. Furuyas mom is just so genuinely sweet and I adore how she thinks about her son. She knows him so well and understandably worries about him. Ugh. It kills me. I'm honestly obsessed with that cover page of Sawamura running after Furuya. I'm sure it wouldve been easy to take it as a visual of Sawamura still being behind Furuya but I always took it as Furuya having started the finals so he's up and running and now its Sawamuras turn to get up and running. Mei being upset about Furuya being switched makes so much sense for the type of person he is lol. He would see it as Furuya quitting while he's ahead 🤣 The scenes of Sawamura coming into the game are some of my favourites honestly lol seeing the audience so excited about him coming in and not asking why Furuyas leaving is just so satisfying after so long lol. And of course, our endearing boy, comes in and immediately does the most extra but adorable thing possible. I love that he's so self aware now that he knows he needs to take his deep breaths to relax and get ready to pitch his best. Super cute of our Taurus boy and I just love all his facial expressions lol. I HATE that Carlos said "I'll remind you of last year" cuz he doesn't even understand the trauma last year was for us and for Sawamura BUT i find it really funny that he says that and then does exactly what he did against Sawamura last year which was a fly out to left field 🤣🤣 remind of last year indeed. I agree that Itsuki probably isn't a potty mouth lmao hes too precious that way 🥰 I dont think Amahisa will ever stop hating Miyuki lol. He just grinds his gears so much without even knowing. I think Miyuki would be shocked to see how many players don't like him and he's had no clue 🤣 I'm glad you're starting to see how adorable Mei and Itsukis relationship is lol. Its very different to Mei and Harada but very sweet still and I appreciate that Itsuki brings out something new and different in Meis character. I think Miyuki hesitates with calling a timeout for Eijun because he still kind of doubts his judgement from last years final. He didn't call a timeout for Sawamura last year when he needed to and it was a detrimental error so I think even though he took a moment for himself, Miyuki still questioned if he needed a timeout or not but just didn't know fully. As a capricorn, I relate to Meis aversion to affection lmao. No interest in hugs or cutesy moments at all. Makes him feel weird 🤣🤣 a true capricorn. I'm not ready for 1 more regular volume lol but I'm excited for you to see more of this game 🎉🎉

2022-10-17 08:19:28 That makes sense about the full medical checkup; I’m glad he’s okay – it looked like it delt some serious damage! @_@ I agree, I love how Miyuki and Furuya can really jive at times – it’s going to be interesting seeing who Furuya works with next year; I’d say Yui, but I can see him and Koshu getting along well, too. And the parent flashbacks are just WONDERFUL in this volume – especially now that we see how much Furuya’s mom was worried about him making friends! SO CUTE! And that’s a really cool interpretation of that cover page, with Furuya being the one to start and Sawamura the one to finish the game! :) I love that! And Mei, what a DIVA this volume, hahaha! It’s also SO satisfying to finally see Sawamura in a game, getting recognition from the teams and the crowd, and not being a “substitute” but the Ace. <3 Him also being so self-aware is ADORABLE! I was so nervous going into chapter 288 and it turned out to be one of the better of the volume! Taurus and facial expressions?! What?! Hahaha! But yeah, Carlos can keep that trauma AWAY from here! I’m glad that Sawamura can handle himself so well, now. Itsuki is too precious for words! Oh, I fell headfirst into the Mei x Itsuki ship and am here to stay! It’s so sweet and Itsuki breaking through the tough wall Mei has built up while Mei is in constant denial of it is so cute! And HAHAHA – A capricorn’s stray from affection – that’s great! I’m glad he humors Itsuki! And ahahaha, Amahisa will be Miyuki’s rival for life. Miyuki will be at the altar, and Amahisa will be the one to yell “I Object” and have nothing else to say after that, just stares for the poor troll. XD It IS interesting to see Miyuki question himself – he’s usually so sure of things, but he wants to make sure everything is right in the final and with Sawamura – it’s rare to see him so hesitant.
