**SUNSHINE-FILLED HEADPHONE WARNING**

Just when I think this series can't crank it up another notch, we have a set of episodes filled with our sunshine boy pitching against the toughest team in the tournament, and DOING WELL! All those episodes of our boy struggling and having setbacks...it all leads up to Sawamura taking on Mima and his calculating team of offensive juggernauts -- and our boys aren't doing half-bad! 

I'm so happy this series is finally rewarding us for those long-suffering games of watching Sawamura not get the recognition he's deserved...leading up to this. Now, his team and the opposition respect him as a pitcher...will the public outside the field recognize our sunshine boy? I guess we'll see, but these episodes were GLORIOUS!

I love this game so much lol for obvious reason. Also that team that was playing Komadai at the beginning wasn't Makis team (that's Sensen) but they are a team we've seen before. Last year we saw them waaaaay in the beginning of season 1 with their pitcher who had that creepy smile lol. You might not remember them it was in the first like 18 episodes of season 1 🤣 Ochiai as the coach for the second string really allows him to be his toad self again lol. Its like he's withdrawing from his snake ways. What a useless coach just sitting there stroking his beard lol I honestly love the captain for Komadai lol. Hes so cute and sweet and nice. Very unlike Hongo. Its still so weird to hear the first year's call him Sawamura senpai lol like I'm glad they're giving him all the respect it just feels so weird to hear. Sawamuras decision to rock these track suits in these last 2 seasons is one of his best decisions honestly lol they look so comfy. Ignoring that though, that conversation with Miyuki and Nabe was so interesting for so many reasons. You could tell he kind of just had a random case of word vomit where he was thinking about the opportunity for him to be the Ace and just spouted it out without intending it to be like that. I think he struggles with not being open about his thoughts all the time lol. And honestly, him wanting to be the Ace is probably the only "selfish" thing he's wanted this whole time. He never causes a fuss over things that could be seen as selfish even during the yips when he really wasn't being helped like he should've been. But this Ace number is really his only selfish want. If you can even call it selfishness. Its quite sweet to me that even after the Ichidai spring game, Sawamura does still want to impress Kataoka and make him proud. He doesn't hold a grudge against him, just wants to actually feel that moment again without the negative feelings tacking on. I find it quite interesting that the throw from Furuya to 3rd base in the beginning of this game actually shows that Furuyas slump doesn't just stay in the pitching field, it's extended into his fielding as well. He threw that so high that Kanemaru had to jump for it. Normally he's very good with throwing at a proper height from the outfield. Love the introduction that Sawamuras eyes going golden like that is actually an indication of his focus and where he's at mentally. He gets into the zone and his eyes go gold lol. Very cool. I also love seeing the development of Kuramochi and Haruichis partnership. It's taken a bit for them to effortlessly meld together like Kuramochi and Ryousuke did but they've come so far and I love seeing that development. Its so nice seeing the moments between Haruichi, Furuya and Sawamura again. I feel like they've been less often since the end of season 2 but seeing them still all support eachother and spurn eachother on is so welcomed. Miyuki thinks too much at bat. Sometimes he really just spends too much time trying to predict what they're throwing him and he ends up missing it lol I love seeing the upgrade of the Misawa battery where they're now able to telepathically speak and be on the same page. We were begging for them to be this in sync since the end of season 1 lol nice to see it paying off. Their communication has just shot up so much since then. Miyuki APOLOGIZED for not being more clear about the pitch being further outside the zone. Unheard of 🤣 and seeing how PROUD Miyuki is of Sawamura is just... the best. Truly the best. Kataokas speech to Furuya honestly gave me such Kunitomo vibes lol. I dont think he was necessarily calling Furuya arrogant generally but i think he was saying that play, or that attempt at a play, was arrogant and made in arrogance. Mima definitely gives Raichi vibes but if Raichi thought more while at bat lol. If he wasn't just a batting monkey demon with no thoughts behind it. Can't wait for next week 🎉

This game has been SO much fun so far! I love that it’s #taurusseason all up in this! OOHHHHH so it was THAT team – wow, Season One HAS been a while, hahaha! Okay, that makes more sense, now! Hahahaha, your disdain for Ochiai gets me every time. I was starting to warm up to him…hopefully he doesn’t make me regret my decisions, haha! I like when they put a cinnamon bun player with a feisty player to calm them down! Aka Mei and Itsuki, haha! Harada’s just a giant teddy graham. :) It IS weird to hear Sawamura called “senpai” but it’s growing on me! :) Our 1st years-now-2nd years have grown up! :’) I agree – him wanting to be the ace is literally the only selfish thing about our sunshine boy, but it’s been there since day one, so we knew this walking in with his character! :) And I love how he’s trying to word everything right and he’s being self-conscious about it. And yeah, Sawamura doesn’t seem like the grudge-holding type - he still wants to get both Kataoka and Miyuki to acknowledge him! :3 I love Sawamura’s golden eyes – it’s a neat play that Miyuki’s go both golden and fiery blue like Furuya’s, since he’s been partners with both. But we see his more golden than not. ;) Ahhhh, that’s a good point about Furuya being affected on all fronts in his slump. I definitely agree that Kataoka’s speech to Furuya was similar to Kunitomo’s. Kuramochi and Haruichi’s relationship is SO good! I love that in the background, Haruichi has become besties with both Mochi and Zono! :) But we still see him with Sawamura and Furuya, too. It’s going to be SUPER angsty and sad when Mochi and Zono graduate…not just for Sawamura, but Furuya now, too. :( And ahhhh, Miyuki the overthinker. I’ll talk about that with this set of episodes coming up (that I watched last night bwaahahahahaha) but yeah, he tries to get too into predicting and just misses. But yeah - Miyuki apologizing?! Insane. Him being proud? LOVING IT! Hahaha, their battery is chaotic, bold, and I’m all here for it! And I love the comparison and contrast of Mima and Raichi – ahhh, good times. Oh, this coming week is going to be quite a discussion. :3 Thanks so much for the comment!
