We round out the last of the OVA's for Season One...and this one...this one is my favorite!

ALL the comparisons between Levi and Eren, getting into the mindset and ideals of Erwin, seeing how Levi and Erwin have BOTH grown and changed from this time in the past to the present...this OVA had everything: heart, humor, pain, the SYMBOLISM and PARALLELS; the whole nine yards!

Yup, this is easily the best OVA by a long shot. The song translation is very accurate, though it is clear that it has been written by a non-native speaker :D It's fine though. The gist is, that a bunch of people (a family ?) is living together forever and everything is fine and dandy and it's always going to be that way. The somberness of the tone betrays the lyrics though, of course :) Speaking of which, i find it ironic if not to say poetic that Levi's ragtag team of scoundrels lives in what by all accounts is a filthy slum, yet their little place is absolutely clean. Levi being a germaphobe imo is more than just a quirky personality trait, it is metaphoric ! Maybe they could have lived there together forever or at least until they themselves got sick, but their hand was forced. Then the first thing in the barracks we see is Levi noting how it's not clean, this is different, this is not the place they can happily live together in... Very much looking forward to the recap video :D

I am FAILING at recognizing Tsuda this week and last week -- First Violet Evergarden and now Attack on Titan... *sigh* I was so sucked into the story, it totally went over my head! Wow...re-watching, you can SO tell!

Definitely my favorite OVA of the bunch! And yesss, I noticed Levi's look around in the barracks, seeing it wasn't clean. That's such a good note about the "slum" being kept cleaner by Levi, Isabel, and Farlan than the actual survey corps' barracks. And then the song being so sad despite the lyrics? Sooooo good! Yes! Tomorrow, the recap and then Season 2 starts!! I'm so excited! :D Thanks!

Wow. I cannot believe I’ve gone through 3 1/2 seasons without knowing this backstory! This changes my perspective on Levi’s dynamic with Erwin so much. And that seems important. Like, show, why are you keeping this hidden damnit! Seeing how much this younger Levi loved his friends, and then how he lost them HURT 😢. And I am glad we got to see him get emotional about it, and it makes it hurt even more that he can’t afford to anymore. Though we know he feels it. He’s one of my favorite anime characters. This is a gem. Thanks so much for wading through the henti and pop ups to bring us the reaction 😂❤️

Oooh, I am really looking forward to more Erwin/Levi dynamics, ESPECIALLY after this OVA! And YES! Seeing Levi get emotional -- I'm not sure I can handle seeing it AGAIN, but I'm glad we got to see him break down. So now, we know when he loses others, how he feels on the INSIDE! T-T The deaths in this episode HURT, but it was worth it to finally see his backstory! And Thank YOU for the kind words -- I would gladly wade through a sea of pop ups and hentai to see another OVA like this one! ;) :D

The song is actually not bad. You can of course see that it isn't written by a native speaker but it definitely isn't bad. Erwin kneeling into the puddle. The symbolism. Also just all the symbolism in all of this was amazing. Same as all the moments that get tied into the season. I knew how painful this would be but Kamiya's voice acting broke me. He's one of the most popular seiyuus and I really like him but to be honest I never really understood how he could be that popular for his performance since I've just never really watched much with him and anything where Kamiya had to put so much emotions in it like it was here. Now I can really understand it. It teared my heart apart. Someone probably already told you but Flagon is voiced by tsuda kenjiro. I like that the commander was the same one we saw in the first episode. Wish you a wonderful day!!

Oh, the song is fine! :) And YES, the symbolism with Erwin kneeling in the puddle beside Levi is one that definitely sticks out for me -- and Kamiya deserves all the accolades with his voice acting in that scene alone -- you could FEEL the pain in his voice. I'm glad we got to see him break down...not sure I want to see it again in the series! @_@ And I'm slacking because I didn't realize it was Tsuda voicing Flagon. And OH! It WAS, wasn't it?! Oh wow, yeah, the consistency and continuity of this show continues to impress! :) Thanks for the kind words and have a great day, too!
