Yet another moment I had to pause and hit my head against the book; Shen Qingqiu being oblivious to why Gongyi Xiao wanted him to wear his outer robe instead of Luo Binghe's 🤦‍♀ Gotta love how steadfast Gongyi Xiao is in his belief in Shen Qingqiu. He's not entirely wrong to have that belief because Shen Yuan is the only Shen Qingqiu he's ever met, and he hasn't done the things he's accused of. But it definitely takes a lot of courage and belief in someone to be willing to go against your own sect (and pretty much all the other sects currently in the area barring Cang Qiong Peak) to help an accused criminal like Shen Qingqiu in this way. So much secrecy regarding the mushroom. At this point I think I was muttering to my book, "Tell me what the mushroom does!!!" Mo Xiang Tong Xiu showing off how well she can write the trope of creepy child in horror stories/movies. The build-up to the line "Shizun personally threw me down myself" is a great way to slowly build the readers anxiety and terror towards the child. The transition for both reader and Shen Qingqiu from being awake to being in the dream realm is also magnificiently done. Like Shen Qingqiu says, you can't remember when a dream starts. It feels a little like breaking the Fourth Wall with the reader also being immersed in that feeling of being unable to tell when he entered the dream realm. Definitely want to shake Shen Qingqiu for not having an epiphany that Luo Binghe was purposefully falling into his arms when they trained together. He definitely wins the Captain Oblivious aware for Mo Xiang Tong Xiu's protagonists just with their whole fight scene these chapters alone. Especially when he continually talks about how the plot has become completely skewed from the original, yet is still determined to view Luo Binghe through the lens of the character he was in the original novel, and not the person he has become thanks to Shen Qingqiu's actions and words. Ning Yingying definitely got on my nerves in the donghua and Volume 1. But this moment of her defending both her Shizun, Shen Qingqiu, and her sect, Cang Qiong Peak, definitely made me want to give her some B-Points (Badass Points) 🤣 Though I've gotta say that the verbal fight between her and the Little Palace Mistress did make me think of them having a cheer-off a la Bring It On 😂 And we get a nail-biting cliffhanger! I'm sorry but I laughed so hard at you calling Hua Cheng "Evil demon-realm Jesus" 🤣🤣🤣 Perfect new moniker for our Crimson Rain Sought Flower! For Luo Binghe saying that Meng Mo isn't his Master we did see him in the donghua accepting Meng Mo's offer to teach him but that he would not consider, nor call him, "Shizun". Though Shen Qingqiu was unaware of this until Luo Binghe tells him at this moment. So glad I'm not the only one that thought of Doukyuusei with that moment of Luo Binghe's hand trailing down Shen Qingqiu's spine. Also agree with you that it is up there as one of the most sensual moves a person can pull. Maybe because I see a lot of similarities between sword-fighting and dancing, this moment felt like a passionate dance between the two of them with their parries back and forth (both verbally and physically). Just they're each listening to a different track/beat.

I honestly forgot it took us this long to get any sort of in depth information about Xin Mo. SQQ really does have trouble with focusing on the right things sometimes, lol. I enjoyed your discussion about SQQ having a noticeable impact already and how he just can’t seem to see it. He’ll notice if it’s shoved in his face, but otherwise dismisses his own actions pretty easily. Despite the system telling him he’s here to fix the story, he doesn’t seem to have any faith in his ability to enact meaningful change. Also good point about the palace mistresses hypocrisy in hitting Ning Yingying. I didn’t connect those things together when I first read it. Probably got too caught up in NYY’s sick burns 😋 Thanks for another video! It was a lot of fun!

SQQ as an unreliable narrator is honestly a LOT of fun and adds another layer of *pulls hair out* to the story, but in a good way! Thank you for the kind words - it's insane how little self-worth he has in the fact that he could "save" the day and be the hero - it's not so much humbleness as he doesn't have faith in himself and that's a little sad. But dannnnng Ning YingYing has come so far, hasn't she?! Thank you for the comment and kind words! I'm sooooo excited for next week! *wrings hands together*

Shen QingQiu is one of my favorites but yeah, he is so oblivious to the point you WANT to shake his shoulders comically! Especially with not realizing that LBH was LITERALLY THROWING HIMSELF at SQQ all those years. Bless. I do love that faith that Gongyi Xiao has in SQQ - it makes me want LBH to have that same belief, and maybe that’s where my frustration hits with him in these chapters. But yeah, GYX is a sweetheart and I’m so happy he’s helping SQQ! 🙂 MXTX is holding that Mushroom close to the vest, that’s for sure! Also, the fact that you don’t realize you’re in a dream realm until MXTX decides to reveal it is SCARY for sure - I love how seamless she makes that transition and then you have to go back and find the spot where it happens! That’s a neat note about the 4th wall breaking, too. I honestly LOVE the development with NYY - I agree, she got on my nerves at the start, but this peak character development! Yes, please! And the Bring it on references are THERE for sure! It makes me remember “not another teen movie” with “Oh, it’s already been BROUGHTEN.” 😛 To be fair to MXTX, the cliffhangers haven’t been TGCF levels with SVSSS, but they still hurt. And was I WRONG with that moniker for Hua Cheng? Xie Lian really is a lucky man in comparison - imagine him having LBH in TGCF? The heavens would probably shake even more…maybe? Ah, that IS a fair point that SQQ did not know about the conversation with LBH and Meng Mo at the time; that’s good you pointed that out! Ooohhh, and the “Sword Fighting as Dancing” reference - hmmm, I do like that a lot! I’ll have to take note of that! Thank you for the comment and kind words!
