There are NEW characters, MORE complications, and MXTX is out here to make it clear: things are about to get WILD! And I'm not sure I'm ready for it and...I'm not sure I can wait for the final chapters of Volume 1 next week!

"It was a decade ago" Shhh, Romania! Let me live in denial about 2014 being ten years ago 😂 Shen Yuan's complaints about Airplane Shooting Towards The Sky writing in some harem drama instead of more about the various creatures and fights always read to me as being similar to his complaints about the fight between Sha Hualing and Liu Mingyan, and the myriad of sex scenes throughout the novel. He's not here for the fights, drama, and squabbles between Luo Binghe's women. Give him all the monsters instead. Completely relate with Shen Qingqiu being confused on if he remembered the original work correctly when events occurred differently before him. I've had that feeling a number of times when either watching reactors, or even adaptations of things I've read/seen the source material for first. Gotta love the movie reference to The Ring with Shen Qingqiu's way of describing the water demon. Its a nice subtle reference/reminder of Shen Yuan's origins if you don't have the footnote. The donghua definitely made the sudden appearance of the creature more epic, but the novel (in all of Mo Xiang Tong Xiu's glory) makes it so much more gruesome. Just as she does with the spider demons (I don't have arachnophobia but damn that description of them made me shudder). That moment between Luo Binghe and Shen Qingqiu immediately after Luo Binghe says that the dead shimei and shidi are the only casualties really gives me such WangXian vibes 🤣 Just with the latter they're equally besotted with one another, and with Shen Qingqiu and Luo Binghe it feels like its more one-sided romantically and platonically fond. Romania: There's a lot of thigh-clinging in this novel I watched this after you posted that image of Kei and Kougami in the Psycho-Pass channel so my mind immediately went to them and that scene 😆 SVSSS needs to share; we need more thigh-clinging in Psycho-Pass 🤣 I adore all of Shen Qingqiu's scathing internal thoughts about Shang Qinghua 😂🥰 Also yes, what better shock than the introduction of a character who isn't supposed to appear for another five hundred chapters! But at least Mobei-Jun is not as much of a mouthful/tongue twister as the Black Moon Rhinoceros-Python 😅

Yes! We have gotten to the novel only stuff! I’ve been very excited for you to meet these new characters, and I look forward to when they show up again. I really loved your Who want to be a Millionaire joke, it was very accurate!😆 I also enjoyed the points you made about how in the original novel LBH was supposed to have his first time here and under such circumstances. Having his first time be under those kinds of conditions slides some puzzle pieces into place about how his relationships with his wives became so toxic. That’s a heck of a formative experience, you know? And then it was followed by the hell that is the Endless Abyss. 😟 Thanks for the video!

Ooohhhhh, the roller coaster has started! I’m SO excited!! And YES, that Who Wants to Be a Millionaire joke is going to come up again! I forgot (when I talk about it again) that it came up in this discussion! And yessssss, the idea that LBH was coerced into sex and did it because he was trying to be “nice” and then was stuck in the abyss afterwards due to others being cruel to him…yeah…that WOULD make you feel a certain way and be open to certain toxicity for sure! OH, I feel you! 2014 being 10 years ago is INSANE! The accusations in the Discord that SQQ is a MonsterF*cker are growing…more and more valid as we go, aren’t they? 😛 Yeah, and if it’s a long series where it’s a “million” chapters the OG story, I can’t imagine SQQ forgetting or mixing up certain elements, like with the many different “rare flowers” for example. YES, MXTX’s gruesome details were just too much for Chinese television to adapt! But at least it was adapted well overall. I love the pop culture references that SQQ pulls out though. It’s definitely a nice reminder! Yes! The connection to WangXian with these two in this chapter segment is very noticeable! AHAHAHA and that “thigh clinging” comment connecting to Kogami and Kei – *ahem* Just a lot of thigh-hugging this summer! ;) And YES –1.) Mobei-Jun is definitely a lot easier to say – and 2.) we’re getting some SUPER out of nowhere moments happening…RATHER quickly in this part of the story – and that seems like a red flag to me! But I’m really excited to see where it goes! Thanks for the comment!
