I had so many ideas of how this episode would go, but like Rei, I was caught up in the future...and not being in the PRESENT. And we see the consequences of Rei underestimating his opponent, here.

Rei being "terrible at depression" BREAKS my heart in this episode and I want to hug him and help him so much. Rei's finally decided he wants to climb the ladder...only to find it will NOT be easy or without heartbreak.

AAAAAAAAAAH *Shimada fan girl noises* Already said it on the discord channel but how i love him... In my comment last week i tried to describe how i love his intro but i was waiting for you to see this episode to truly convey how i feel about his character. And im totaly with you for comparaison with Oikawa, i have a thing for hard working character, even thought even genius have to work hard and Rei definetely works hard even so there is a difference with genius and just pure Hard working type of people like Shimada. Also generally i think most of the people relate more to this type of character. You always want to cheer for them, like Haikyuu exemple as much as i love Kageyama's character, his struggle and i wanted him to win, i was cheering so much for Oikawa to win too haha ( but that honestly is an Haikyuu thing you have that with each team ) and Oikawa was one of my favorites character in Haikyuu Love his character also because of his calm and "reserved" ( dont know if its the right word sorry for my english ) nature, i relate a lot to his character as much as i also relate to Rei a lot like i said before. I think you said everything in the discussion. Great reaction.

I am OFFICIALLY a Shimada fan girl for SURE! I loooove hiim already! I definitely think the Oikawa love has me loving him more for sure! We can’t help but root for an underdog, right?! And I love how Shimada is fun (so far) and his personality shows, but he’s also calm under pressure when he needs to be – I can see why Nikaido looks up to him so much! Thank you for the comment and kind words! I’m really looking forward to his character in this series!
