**JAW-TO-THE-GROUND HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

The "Rule of 8" did NOT let us down for this one, y'all! This is maybe one of my favorite episodes in the series, as we get TWISTS, TURNS, and in the words of Kronk: "IT'S ALL COMING TOGETHER!" Or starting to, at least.

Holy cow, I have a lot to say about this one! And I know I'm not prepared for the rest of this season! *fangirl screams* LET'S GO!

From "There's no way I'll ever regret it" to "I was stupid...so stupid" pretty much sums up my entire life, so I sympathize with Sayaka.

Such a depressing episode with so much to talk and theorize about! The scene on the train to me feels like the breaking point for Sayaka because, as you pointed out, she sees herself in the woman those guys were talking about, but also she was reminded once again that the people she tries to protect are always innocent. Sayaka suffers from black and white morality and she holds on to it for dear life, because if she stops believing, what has she been sacrificing herself for? And when even she can't fulfill the high moral standard you set out for everyone. That's when everything starts crumbling down for Sayaka. She keeps putting herself in harm's way and refuses to let people help her, even hurting Madoka to push her away. The self harm and suicidal behaviors are just too hard to watch 😭 Her whole arc feels like watching a car slowly crash and can't stop yourself from looking. Kyouko saves Sayaka from Homura and runs around to find her!! Oh how things have changed in such a short time. Seeing Homura slowly showing her real intentions and emotions was intense, and put a lot of her previous actions into question. The way she begs for Madoka to not sacrifice herself sounds genuinely devastating!!! She is my favorite and I can't wait for you to see more. Homura calls Kyubey "Incubator". When refer to eggs, an incubator creates an environment "optimal for growth, hatching, or reproduction". So Kyubey is creating the optimal environment for turning magical girls into witches 💀

Hindsight was so 20/20 for Sayaka...I felt so much for her! Teenage years are rough enough, but with the fate of your darkening soul in the works as well? OOF. Thank you for the comment!

OH MY GOD. That is amazing -- how did I miss that?! Insanity! Thank you for the comment and pointing that out!

This episode was WILD and I LOVE how much there is to talk about this show!! The scene on the train is so heartbreaking of how she’s projecting in that moment and also showing how she’s struggling with her sense of purpose and morality – it’s SUCH a breakdown moment. You are so correct with that idea of her sense of self crumbling! It’s really hard seeing her seeking self harm in these moments…yes a slow car crash…or train wreck? Too soon? It’s amazing how the roles with Kyouko and Homura have really tossed in this season so far and YES, Homura’s reveal was insane with how desperate she was to save Madoka – it’s so heartfelt! And I agree, Homura is my favorite character in the show for sure at this point! And yep, in the words of Kronk, it’s…”all coming together.” Thank you for the comment and kind words!
