I remember when this first came out. I was just getting into kpop at the time.(2009) This popped up in my recommendations. Like you at that point I had never heard it performed that slowly.(I mean it's always been a ballad, but a pop ballad with synths and drums) But this version is almost haunting. This is the IU I developed an admiration for. This is back when she was probably still living in an apartment with her grandmother, brother and cousin. To watch her growth from these humble beginnings into the woman she is today. It is literally nothing short of inspiring.
