By the way, Stray Kids just released a performance video this morning for "Victory Song"! They also have a video for "Boxer" which is just fun silliness...but I recommend "Victory Song" more!

Ahhhhh I didn’t know y’all did album reviews I’m so happy!!! Also, I apologize in advance, but I’m gonna post a longggggg post in a minute lol ☠️ To preface, the format for yall’s album reviews is super cool. For fans like me that are really into music, this is a great way for me to think about my own views of projects when I don’t really have as many friends that are into music the same way I am! So thank y’all for this ♥️

OKAY SO! 👏🏽 Lol I love this group, so I’m sorry if I ramble! I guess for starters, the production/songwriting team of 3RACHA (pronounced three rah cha) have been making songs since before Stray Kids came together as a group, so I think they have a soundcloud with a ton of music predebut. Some of the most popular 3RACHA songs are then re-recorded as Stray Kids songs and put in as gift tracks on CD’s only. They label them Mixtape #1/2/3 etc. So far they’ve done Stray Kids versions of Placebo (Mixtape #1), The Darkest Shadow Needs Light to Exist (Mixtape #2), For You (Mixtape #3), and Broken Compass (Mixtape #4). Their album order is Mixtape (pre-debut), I Am Not, I Am Who, I Am You, and Clé 1: Miroh if you ever wanna go through their music from then till now to see their growth. I love that Han is who stands out to y’all as a rapper, because he really stands out to Knetz as well for his all around talent. His performances are always amazing, I would love it if y’all checked out a live stage of Miroh! As for the fast rapper, I think you’re talking about Changbin? He gets A LOT of attention from western and kfans because of his more aggressive rap style that you don’t hear much of in kpop. I would count Hyunjin as part of their rap line as well, though he doesn’t write the lyrics. He gets a lot of attention from fans, and I can see why (I love him, too). His performance is usually more about the cool hip aesthetic that I think younger fans are really into. Plus in Korea he’s considered a visual. NOW BANG CHAN. 😭 I really really like him as a vocalist. He’s proven himself as a rapper through 3RACHA, but as a part of Stray Kids, I think his roll is as a vocalist, and a strong one. I could wax poetic about Chan, but I’ll save it and talk about Maze of Memories as you pointed out some interesting things! The switch to English starting with Felix I think really comes from the fact that Felix is still trying to learn and master Korean? He’s fluent, but not to the point where writing lyrics in Korean would be easy for him. So I think when he writes or has a few bars in songs English is easier? Not sure on that though, as for this song they may have just been playing with language to reach their diverse fan base. Chan and Felix are both from Australia, Seungmin and Han are both basically fluent in English, and Hyunjin’s English isn’t terrible, which helps the group with their international popularity. I find it interesting that 19 could be a low point for some on this album because it’s my favoriteeeeee lol but I’ve always been more partial to R&B tracks. That track is also the only one on the album 100% written and produced and arranged by the members. Han wrote the lyrics, Chan and Han did production while Chan did the arrangement. All in all, as someone who’s been a fan since their Mixtape days, I’m in love with their growth and the type of music they put out. Thanks again for the review of their album! I look forward to watching reviews of other artists from y’all.
