Hi folks!

Due to patreon's rules and me being -REALLY- nervous about depending on patreon and this new set of rules for a chunk of my income that honestly keeps me housed every month (Literally y'all... without you and patreon I wouldn't make rent every month. 100% serious. I am SO so thankful to you all!) I've come to a difficult decision:

Starting in April, I will be scaling back my Patreon posting while moving to SubscribeStar.

  • You can find me there at https://subscribestar.adult/kihu

  • I need to be safe - I can't depend on a website that could (due to their policies) pull the rug out from under me at any time.

  • I would be in a huge pile of trouble if Patreon suddenly held, seized, or retracted any funds.

  • Subscribestar will be my new 'main home' for crowdfunding and for my highest-tiered content.

  • Please do NOT subscribe to both. (I mean, you CAN, but they're identical, so you'd just be paying twice for the exact same content)

What stays the same?

If you choose to remain here on patreon, you're welcome to! These things on patreon will NOT change whatsoever, and I'll continue to keep all of them running until a point where Patreon may shut me down:

  • I'll keep posting paid content/monthly illustrations, polls, etc.

  • Your membership

  • Your cost per month for all tiers except for the $2 tier. (See below for details)

  • Your discord benefits

What is changing?

I can't juggle two crowdfunding websites at 100% at the same time AND I would like to incentivize folks moving from one service to another. Therefore, the following things will be changing in the way that I interact with Patreon and its services:

  • No longer posting commissions or non patreon-only content.

  • Polls are moving to google forms (So that members from both subscribestar AND patreon can vote on the same polls)

  • The discord will be populated with users from both patreon and discord - the same benefits cost the same on both websites, with the exception of the $2 patreon tier (see below).

  • The $2 per month tier on Patreon will increase to $3 per month, to match the suggested minimum tier cost on Subscribestar.

Is Subscribestar any different?

I'll do my best to keep the websites structured as identically as possible. There's some small differences here and there, and I'm sure I'll find more as I go. Here's some similarities and differences:

  • The tiers cost the same.

  • The discord benefits are the same.

  • The content I'll be making each month and what you can expect as a member will be the same.

  • My huge gallery of work is not yet uploaded to Subscribestar, and I will have trouble getting it all migrated, but I'll do my best to get that done over time!

  • Subscribestar limits posts to 5 tags, so I'll stick to major tags like "commission work" vs "monthly illustrations" and "WIP" and stuff like that. I will absolutely miss patreons custom tagging system ;n;

  • Subscribestar WON'T take my account offline for posting furry porn (Woohoo!)

In closing, I just wanted to thank you all for making this venture into crowdfunded work such a vibrant success.

I've been so, so lucky to have each of you as members and I hope that you are all interested in, and able to join me on SubscribeStar while I make my new start.

I can't say thank you enough. I hope to see all of you on the other side, and will keep my fingers crossed that this new home can feel more permanent, secure, and welcoming to NSFW artists and their communities.

With love and gratitude,

  • Kihu

I’m at LVFC but I’ll switch my sub this week when I get home. Let us know how SS goes as an artist! 👍

I already follow a few people over there, so it should be easy to cancel one subscription and open another. I see no point in double-subscribing. Further, I think it's a fair way to express my displeasure at the way Patreon's policies are trending. The amount of money they loose will, in my case, directly correspond to the number of artists on my list who head for the life boats.

thanks for following me on the migration! And yeah. None to pleased with payin this site thousands of dollars a year to have them yank the rug out from under me. I'll take my ball and go home, thanks
