Why does the dad uses “kun” instead of “chan” with his daughters' names? Isn’t “kun” for males? Could someone clarify please? I’m curious.

kun is generally used for males, but it can also be used when older men are addressing younger females if im not wrong. Its basically used to address someone of a junior status than u at its core. E.g. a senior male worker or boss can address his female subordinate "kun" in a formal setting, a father can also call her daughter kun which is more respectful in a way. thats abt all i know, but there's probably more to it like how appropriate it is in certain settings and situations.
