Hello, I was entertained feedback I received about being blind to the KPOP songs.

Currently, I listen to songs on my own that I like but when I see the video for the 1st time, I'm already familiar with the songs.

I read that it's better to NEVER have heard the song either so viewers can enjoy the surprise on both HEARING the song for the 1st time AND seeing the visuals for the first time.

Is that your preference? Save the whole experience for on-camera?

Just looking for respectful feedback and be kind to each other in the comments.  I used to battle the community over what I think you should think lol...and I generally have stopped doing that.  Whatever the people want lol...I'm chillin'.

It doesn’t really matter in my opinion. Sometimes I listen to the song first and then the music video or vice versa . There’s no right or wrong way to do it

Dirty_Oldman

Most of the stuff you did reactions to were from newer groups so I don’t really have an attachment either way.

Kiana

The way I see it is if you titled the reaction as a first time listen when it’s not and you have listened to it then I could see what people are talking about. But even if you’ve only heard the song and are watching the music video for the first time or something then it still technically counts as a first time reaction in my opinion lol

DefianceR6

For song reactions the video is a plus people are fine with you just listening to it off Spotify. I personally prefer full blind going into a song so that the whole experience is new and genuine

Yaboyrocklee

we share the same opinion.......I'm generally baffled by the results ha, it's like...ok ha back to rap as what i listen to on my own time lol...got it.

This is a dangerous road to go down. My sister has been on the KPop train for a few years now and WONT stop ordering albums which I think is a waste of money.

TAC Genesis

Shes utterly addicted to it lol. She went to a concert for one of them and teamed up with a large group to give out souvenirs out of their own pocket money.

Yaboyrocklee

I’m into anime figures though lol. I don’t see myself getting kpop albums…i never bought a Jennifer lopez Album and i love her

Most reactors that do reactions to K-pop generally go in to it totally blind, so I think most people prefer it that way. But since you do reactions to songs you already like it’s kinda nice because I get recommendations for songs I’ve never heard. Either way is fine in my opinion.

Maybe do completely Blind Reactions to newly released Videos as soon as they come out and keep listening in your free time to old music and react to videos of songs you like for the visuals etc. This might work out for most people. Also been listening to KPOP for about 20 Years so i can help you out with lists of songs you can listen to by yourself or do reactions to new and old.

TAC Genesis

I'd like to get some figures myself but doing yt is expensive so I don't have spare money and no where to put them to boot

I think it depends on what you want out of this experience. Are you looking for new music to enjoy or you looking for more traffic, or both? If you only care for finding music you like, then listening to music first is the way to go. If you want more traffic, then 100% blind. The only thing I have to say is that if you go the 100% blind route, then you are reacting to things the community recommends most likely, and that means its going to be what popular/trending NOW. Just look up any kpop reactor and all the reactions are the groups/songs that are popular now. You likely wont get older recommendations, so groups like EXID wont be recommended unless your specficially asking for reccs from those groups. So it really depends on what your goal is. I'm cool either way honestly. Edit: I like AJJ's comment about doing blind reactions to new releases & then reacting to videos of songs u like for older music.

Consider headphones for improved sound quality. It’s like eating cold pizza, instead of the hot. Or worse, like eating a prime rib with ketchup. My choice would be open back wired headphones that can create an immersive sound stag, while still being to interact and hear each other. So you don’t have to crank it to rock it less muddies and spares your eardrums. But, closed cans are bit cheaper. I got a pair of AKG closed cans for sub $50 that outclasses $300 consumer headphones. The better you can hear, the better you can react and that translates to higher quality content creation and engagement.

This is the winning advice thanks, it addresses my concern while solving the long term issue, i can catch up and find the songs i like at a fast pace...cuz i can listen to 30 songs in a week but i can't react to that...my process as been genuine and i can keep that. I can react to new releases and new singles 100% blind. Thanks

JoP

i dont even watch these but seeing someones first time reaction is pretty much always better no matter what the reaction content is.

Yaboyrocklee

100% understandable. In fact I agree. The implication is I to pretty much stop listening to K-pop songs until I can react to them and go back to rap music as k pop is not something i can listen to for personal enjoyment unles I’ve already reacted to it

Fanny Plasencia

I’m fine with either or, since a lot of these I’ll be seeing for the first time, however, I opted for first time reaction b/c im a bit more entertainment from seeing your blind reactions. All and all, in a perfect world, I’d choose a healthy balance of both. As long as your enjoying yourself, your laugh is contagious

As someone who watches reactions videos and bars breakdowns it's more enjoyable if it's their first reaction. But it's also cool for you to react to songs you like. As long as you're upfront about it.
