@6:04 i always disagreed with that argument about the supporting cast as well. If the rest of the Konoha 9 already served their purpose narratively then why not just actually let them die in the sasuke retrieval arc?

I really enjoy this short videos of just hearing your opinion. It’s a small window into how you see anime. I also would like to add that I think both Naruto and DBZ are the hardest shows to rank because I grew up with them, but I do know for sure the bar when it comes to anime is one piece and AOT. They both add many things to anime just that one is a small scale show is a quicker watch, while the other is a ever expanding world that takes on you on a journey. Both equally qualified to be number 1, but I will always pick one piece over AOT because of how it ended.

I don’t usually shit on anime except when my friends mention Black Clover. It was just a series I could never get into and I have been told it got better. Although I don’t think that makes for a good show, I think it probably someone’s version of Naruto. Naruto and Bleach are two series that I loved at the time but I don’t think they finished as strongly as I would have liked. One Piece I have mixed emotions about because I did enjoy it at the time. However, I don’t think any of it was necessarily great. I think most Shonen are just a good time and not necessarily great. Which is fine.

2023-06-23 09:54:11 My first shounen anime I actually watched was Inuyasha. Bleach is still my favorite shounen anime. DBZ was enjoyable, but it was too much power up screaming rinse and repeat for 200+ episodes =). Naruto & OP are enjoyable, but I never enjoyed them too much. I would rate DS in these shows too and I do expect when DS is fully done in the anime, it will be easily in top 3 for all time.

That’s probably true because mort shonen are a good time regardless of story. Just from my experience with Fairy Tail and Food Wars. In general I need to be sucked into anime by the third episode. I’m also very critical of anime endings so I generally lump all Shonen together because of that.

For shounen anime, not saying for any other genre :D. Like my own anime top 3 has AOT and Re:Zero fully there will be hard to take those out.
