We have a active Kpop/drama section in the discord.  I might seperate the Kdrama section from kpop at this rate, I saw Stray Kids and was gonna do that and realized it's an all male group. Which is fine if you also just like Adorkable's reaction.  I don't have one thing to personally me excited about for a guy group personally and i'm just being honest.  I would like to share why i started focusing on Kpops and that will help you understand me.

I really took an interest after discovering Kim Se-jeong sings.  
Even my first Lisa reaction was pretty cool..but something about that smile on Kim Se-jeong peaked my interest in learning more. So i watch her singing videos on twitter.   
I started to naturally want to repeat the language a bit more than normal.  

Than we picked up a Kdrama to replace Uncanny Encounter and the mannerisms of the female actress got my attention more and I just wanna be familiar with the culture more and more....aaaaaannnndddd.  If this was Kim Se-jeong's world...i gotta know more ha ha ha.... I'm very much a person drawn to a certain person or persons in media, ha ha..even in this i wanted to go back just for the Lisa part and realized Adorkable was still listening and let it finish replaying.

So anyways Mixed or Girl Groups is where I wanna be.

I'm very aware BTS for example is FANTASTIC for the channel but i'm not naturually ready for that. I hope you understand.  THAT BEING SAID....i'm also aware we can focus on Adorkablenerd but..but...she seems also interested in showing us things we naturally like too as our gateway material...

It’s fine if you have a preference for girl groups vs boy groups. Whether it’s just adorkable nerd or all three of you is fine with me. The BTS thing is fine with me personally since I am only just a casual listener of them and not an actual fan of them like that. As rocklee probably saw from the discord I’m more of a stray kids type person lol . Though I also like to listen to girl groups. Stray kids is probably top priority for me. The one thing that I’m kinda concerned is that at least on the YouTube side in the comments section. The more you do reactions to kpop songs . You’re probably gonna get a lot of requests from bts fans, stray kids fans and maybe some other kpop boy groups fans. Especially if you’re maybe not that into boy groups like that. But I love your reactions .

If you're going to look at female kpop artists mostly, there are a couple I would love for you to check out. First would be KDA. They're a kpop group that is based in the League of Legends universe, using characters from that game. There are both english singers and korean singers in the group. I would also love for you to check out Ailee and her cover of I Will Always Love You as well as hers and Hyolin's cover of Bang Bang, then check out Hyolin's solo work and her old group work in Sistar. Twice is also great. Both Sistar and Twice have great summertime tracks. But I do want to point out that there is nothing wrong with getting in to BTS just because they're popular and and can do well for your channel. Most reactors I believe do that. But eventually, after seeing their backstory and reading the meaning in their lyrics and finding out what they stand for, end up liking them as who they are as people and their values and struggles. Just pointing that out. If you like kdramas where the leads rise up from the ashes and fight against 'evil' super powers to reach the top, then you would like the story of BTS and appreciate their rise to the top. It's truly a story right out of the kdrama world. Stray Kids has a similar story, as well as ATEEZ. I think it's the fact that unlike many kpop groups, they write and produce their music. Anywho, look forward to your kpop and kdrama reactions in the future. I joined because you're reacting to Uncanny Counter. No one I follow has done this drama yet. I don't think studio dragon dramas should be an issue if you're not putting them on youtube and make them patreon exclusive. I'm hoping you look at some great period pieces in the future. Would love to throw in a recommendation of watching While You Were Sleeping for my bday, which is next week. Shameless bday request. lol. But it is a great drama that deals with visions and comedy and heroism. Also Pinocchio is an amazing drama as well. Both are never requested in kdrama polls of those I follow and I don't know why because they both are really amazing. If you want something on Netflix to watch tho, which neither of them are, I would love to recommend Move To Heaven or Navillera or The king Eternal Monarch.

BLACKPINK def the most popular kpop girl group atm and they still have quite a few MV's and solo music if you want to go through them first. After that, girl groups to check out: Mamamoo, Twice, (G)I-DLE, Red Velvet, NewJeans, Le Sserafim, IVE, Itzy, Dreamcatcher, XG, Aespa.

You already know my recs Lee •~• Imma be honest I'm not a huge fan of Blackpink because I'm an old kpop fan and I sincerely wish you would react to some 2ne1 stuff because everything Blackpink is and what they stand for is modeled after them. Not to say they don't have individuality and charisma and talent, I'd just hate to see you miss out on an opportunity to learn about the OGs of kpop if you really want to learn more about the industry and it's hitmakers...If you only react to Blackpink stuff it will limit your audience as with kpop there are a lot of artists you should give a try rather than just the basic options. On another note, visuals are nice but I promise if you get over your bias of male kpop and just look into the lyrics the songs are seriously good. Don't go into kpop close minded because you miss out on a lot if you trap yourself in the mindset of thinking you can only appreciate one type of artist. Just wanna put that out there ~

Mamamoo's Killing Voice is SO GOOD! They sing parts of their songs live - they're definitely currently the best girl group vocalists. They're also all adorable and super fun to watch

Blackpink and Twice are the 2 most popular girlgroups in Korea and abroad. They also have a lot of contents to react to. But let me also tell you a bit of a background about Kim Sejeong too. She was a superstar in Korea last 2016-2017. She participated in a kpop survival show (Produce 101 season 1) and her career started there. There were 101 girls who will compete (dance, sing, rap, personality etc) and in the end only 11 girls will win and they will form a project girl group (I.O.I) There were super popular back then but too bad their contract is only for 8 months. They could have been more popular than Blackpink now if they were a permanent group. Jeon Somi and Chungha were also a part of that group, 2 of the most popular soloists now. Sejeong is also a soloist since then but more focused on acting. Too bad her agency is small and shitty, and her songs arent mainstream, more on ballad and healing songs thats why shes kinda underrated as an idol, internationally speaking. People wants pop and upbeat songs. I suggest you watch Produce 101 season 1 too, it has 10 episodes. It was the show where I understood how kpop and girl groups works and where everything started. A lot of reactors did this one too.

They have all the time in the world to branch out, and tbh blackpink is a safe bet for viewership. I agree with you on the songs themselves. I only follow the girlies but listen to all of epik highs discography for example - not to say Tablo, Tukutz and Mithra don't have STUNNING visuals ;)

strange& sleepless

A lot of kpop boygroups but especially stray kids aren't created to be solely or even mainly enjoyed by women. Their target audience goes far beyond that. This mindset is honestly sad because you're missing out on a lot of amazing music, music videos, choreography and so on that I could absolutely see y'all get excited over.

I hear ya. A lot of men like those groups. I was careful not to say anything of the sort about who groups are catered for. Only stating my personal preference. I have taken the time on my own to watch Me groups and i didn’t excite me. I’ve seen the girls and they show up on my IG and it makes me happy. Thats why I’m doing these reactions because I already naturally am included to. And Director is following along but shares the same interests as me for visuals.

KPOP is much more wide reaching than KDRAMA and notorious for its toxic fanbases. Recently on a show some Korean singers and entertainers were scared to even answer a question about BTS during a game, and it's only funny because it's true. this is unfortunately true but sometimes people blame the whole fan base when it's really the same specific people(young immature fans) and not the og fans 😕 saying this as a hard-core BTS Stan, sometimes I hate my Fandom because of its bad rap and I've been a Stan since predebut so I've seen their hardships and struggles when they were literally hated on for being different and unpopular. so it makes me proud to see how far they've come but I will never force someone to agree with me on them, I just get happy at the chance to even see their content appreciated. 😊

That being said I don’t think or believe that you should ever force your opinions or preferences on someone else if they don’t like what you like etc . So while I’m a little bit sad about this . I will third a mamamoo. Killing Voice/verse is a program where they sing on a simple stage. The sound engineering is top notch. I’d use it as a gateway to pick videos to watch. I think they will all like CL. She has a killing verse, too. Or her performance video for alpha. I don’t listen to boy bands. Not the the demographic, but some of them are rappers with solos. Korean rap is different from the pop music. Yoon Mirae or Tasha Reid. She is a badass, Korean American. She did this series with kids listening to her song, Black Happiness. Hits you in the feels. She can sing and has a Missy Elliot vibe when she raps. Her husband, Tiger JK, is an og of khiphop. Some other Korean Americans to show some support to Ailee. She’s got pipes and is a powerhouse singer. She can hit a F5 while burping. Jessi. Her song zoom was used she hulk. Watch Down. It’s got summer island vibes. If you get around to some male performers. Jay park’s h1gher music, had a bunch of rappers on a single track. Hyolyn. I’m gonna watch on my own time.
