Yo, I read Chinese Wuxia novels so I am extremely okay with protagonists murdering the hell out of their enemies. I even get excited when it happens

ULTIMATE TROLL

I can definitely understand that’s why usually I try to understand whenever a mc is too scared to kill like Rudy from mushoku like to me I understand why he would hesitate and I’d be okay with him like that but to be honest when I see eren feeling hurt and betrayed by Reiner and Bertholt I’m just go ahead eren kill them all 😹😹😹 but that’s why I usually differentiate fantasy from reality with most shows that try to be realistic and other shows like arifueta that are crazy fun yet still have a little realism for what it tries to pull off so I don’t feel as desensitized most of the time so for me it’s like gta it’s fun but at the end of the day not all people are capable of killing so it’s not reality some people gotta remember that

ULTIMATE TROLL

Definitely I always like to look for that key difference in the personality through their similarities

RockLee just telling it how it is

I agree with everything, especially the writing point. I see it as the intention of the murder matters, it doesn't excuse it but it matters. i.e we will be much more "accepting" if a protagonist murders someone who killed his/her parents vs An antagonist/villain who murder just for the heck of it. The act of murder is the same, which is bad. But it's the intention that makes us more/less accepting of it (Which makes us hypocrites lmao)

I don't really see it as excusing murder because I know for example Eren killing people is bad. I acknowledge what he is doing is bad, but Ive been made to sympathize with Eren by the anime itself. I root for him but if he dies, I cant really be mad cause when it really come down to it he is a murderer and you reap what you sow.

90% of the OG survey corps have caught not-titan human bodies. Honestly I think Historia is the only one that hasnt killed someone. Eren just takes it up a notch.

Daniel Borrego

i think since humans are social creatures, seeing another human suffer triggers a sympathetic emotional response, whereas someone dying does so far less.

Some people just value things more than others. The same way you value your mother more than a rando walking down the street. Objectively speaking, this doesn't make sense, like how rape is considered worse than murder (probably due to the fact that its mostly advertised to be women who get raped.) But people don't think objectively, they think with their feelings, and those who agree with them are considered angels, and those who don't, demons.

Western people have become too sensitive and lived under this false idea that "modern civilized societies" should and will never see or tolerate violence happen, ever. Its actually the opposite. It is precisely because technology and society has advanced, so do crimes. Violence and discrimination will never disappear. Not being allowed to judge people is a lie. We are allowed to judge. We can judge what is good and bad and are good role models. We are allowed to take justice in our own hands if we are provoked to do so. If you cannot speak or act freely, then you are not a free man. You are chained by a cult if not a system or individual of authority disguised as a god.
