Priceless reactions guys 😂 42 CRT is the TV downstairs. Suzuha was basically trying to tell Okabe that she turned the TV on so they can time travel. Btw the time/watch stopping is just symbolism. It doesn't actually happen. Okabe doesn't want to use d-mail as its way too unpredictable. Time leaping is more controllable. The anime foreshadowed Okabe's narrow mindset early on in episode 5 when Okabe and Kurisu were playing the card game. He focuses too much on his own objective and strategy rather than seeing the big picture. The visual novel also goes into detail with his mindset during the loops and why he doesn't get anyone's help. He fully blames himself for being the reason they're in this mess in the first place which is honestly very true. So he decides to take responsibility for his foolishness. He hides this from them to not be any more of a burden on their normal lives and chooses to struggle thru it alone. You really see that he cares for his friends but those feelings are misguided here. You really shouldn't hide this from them. Especially if SERN is gonna kidnap them anyway.

Yeah the issue they're having right now with Okabe is just that they aint really taking it from his side. Rn we all are pretty numb to character deaths, like "oh wow! Moving on" but Okabe aint. Right now Okabe's got adrenaline pumping through his veins, having seen up close Mayushii being brutalized, as opposed to Lee and Director just watching an anime character die on a TV screen so they can quickly start thinking objectively, immediately trying to put pieces together to "solve" this show

I think another reason why he is not using a D mail, there is a chance, that he will land in a world line where they never did develop the Leap machine. If thats the case he would be really in bad place

Oof. This episode is more brutal than the last. I remember my first watch through thinking, good the leap works, there's a way out, and by the end just going back to feeling hopeless.

a d-mail wouldn't be enough because he wouldn't have been able to control or remember what happens after the text was recieved. 42 CRT means the 42-inch tv in the shop thats needed to run the time machine Also did it not occur to him that maybe he could send himself one more time backward after arriving so maybe he could have more time to prepare? Like if he keeps doing it maybe he could even go back before he started working on the time machine.
