I mean I don't think it shows Mista having a stand though, when his stand kicks the bullets there's usually a sharp turn in it's movements, in the flashback they go straight and miss.

I think that scene was meant to imply the whole fate part of Mista’s story and how his phobia with the number 4 started. Mista didn’t get hit simply cause he wasn’t fated to die there yet. Like the scene said people usually stray off the path fate set for them but eventually fate corrects that path.
