I really liked the brother managed to say "sorry" to Shin as that choking wasn't ever his real intent, just overstressed about their parents dying and him forced to go to his death in battlefield.

I may be under thinking it but it seems like the 86 are not aware that they are reaching the communication limit that they have and Lena can see that they are continuing the mission of advancing into the Legion territory meaning she will be left behind and won't be able to keep in contact with them. Which I think is why she started running trying to keep in range, but seeing as she was on legs and they were in vehicles they outpaced her. And since we know that this was a suicide mission the uppers didn't expect them to survive the first day hence why none of the 86 were ever told of a communication limit. Again maybe this is just my simple brain making sense of this but anyway great reaction.

I think they definitely knew they were gonna be out of range. They mentioned being at the limit of republic control, going on ahead, being finally free, etc. If you got confused cuz they mentioned they "hoped she could do this the next time", I think they are talking about hoping she can also do so much for the next spearhead or group of 86 she handles. Not 100% on that part, but that's how I read it
