In the books, the final exam is even cooler. He describes how Roxy essentially created a simulation of a storm which, the second she stopped pumping mana into, would stop. BUt Rudeus messed with temperature and wind speeds and stuff to create an actual storm. Dude out here using science magic.

I wouldn't say he was a bad person, just not a good person. He was traumatized with a level of bullying as a kid and young adult, that I thought only I dealt with - and developed a phobia of the outside world. The reason his family drove him out of his parents home is because he skipped his parents funeral and they caught him jerking off, which is a very fucked up thing, like I said, he wasn't good person - but he isn't an evil one either. He isn't malicious, just sex obsessed and mentally scarred. I don't blame his family for kicking him out - he should have done that himself ages ago, or at least figured out a way to make money while being a shut in - but they should have chased him out with bats and thrown barefoot into the cold rain either... But its not my family, he's not my older brother, and Japan isn't my culture - so I can only judge from the snippets of his past I've seen, and from the point of view of an American wannabe shut in that has too work too much. Edit: I forgot they went into more detail about the bullying and saw you took it back.
