Sogeki is Sniper, so Sogeking can be translated as Sniper King. It's an homage to those classic Tokusatsu shows like Kamen Rider, Ultraman, and Super Sentai (what we know as Power Rangers).

Luffy actually use that canon move on one of the Franky family member when the Strawhat raid the Franky's house, he made a hole through a thick armor that they're wearing. Zoro learn a projectile attack in Skypiea which is pretty much an air slash that he develop from a move called Hawk wave that he used since Whisky Peak. Obviously you can enjoy it without knowing all of this but Oda is that guy, he's one of the best subtle writer that never forget anything that he has written. PS. I really like Captain T-Bone lol
