This is what I love about Eiichiro Oda the G.O.A.T. In the chapters he writes, there are cover pages that show what other characters are up to. In any other series this would have been filler, but this is how Oda shows the world is changing and progressing in parallel time with the strawhats. They're so well fleshed out, that the anime was able to make it into two episodes with a cohesive narrative. Same thing with the adventures of mini Buggy. Oda builds his world reflexively, intuitively, yet somehow still manages to fill it with depth and nuance.
