The Black March is much older than 500 years. Yuri was the first genius fisherman chosen in the last 500 years. There were others before her. This will become more obvious as the show goes on, but characters in this world can live for hundreds of years. Yuri and Lero Ro are both at least 500 years old. Generally the higher up in the tower you go, the older the people there tend to be. And Rankers, are generally the oldest.

the Princesses were around much longer than 500 years, they only said that Yuri was the only one to have been awarded one of the 13 Month Series between the princesses chosen in the last 500 years (in fact most of the most powerful princesses around are more than 500 years old, remember what Lero Ro said, shinsu can make you immortal if you're powerful enough)

Idk I think it's cuz I've been in a very similar mental state as Rachel but I'm thinking she's just not evaluating all her options regarding Bam and she might think distancing herself from him is the best decision even if it hurts her in the long run like she's almost thinking she doesn't matter as long as Bam is happy
