GANGS OF PANTY'S LANDING

OVERVIEW

Panty’s Landing is overrun with gangs of all varieties. Some are just people desperate to survive, but others are monsters.

BIOGRAPHY

The first gang to appear in Panty’s Landing, then known as Danger’s Cove, was the Pyros. These dudes were bad news, and had an affinity for burning the hell out of things. They were once members of Scurvy’s crew, but when his lineage took over, their power steadily shrank until eventually they were ousted entirely. This is when, hoping to take back power they viewed as rightfully theirs, the Pyros officially formed.

They didn’t forget their pirate past, and didn’t mind using their power to steal. They made it clear that if you didn’t fork over whatever they wanted, you’d soon find your most prized possession burnt to a crisp, and for a while everyone feared them, because nobody knew who they’d strike next. The gang was eventually wiped out by a traitor who scorched them all, took the money they’d amassed, and fled Panty’s Landing.

Though they had failed in their original goal, they left behind a legacy that wouldn’t soon be forgotten. Most people in Danger’s Cove weren’t hardened criminals, they didn’t know how to survive on their own—but seeing these people band together, develop a niche which made them unique, and set fear in the hearts of the entire city? That was something to be commended—something others aspired to achieve.

Numerous gangs formed out of this, and most were founded by the leaders Scurvy had robbed and trapped. See, they had money back home, and they promised if they were helped, they would repay everyone beautifully. This is how the Blazers rose up, how the Grandmas rose up, how the Bludgeoners rose up, how the Sandwich Cult(don’t ask) rose up—and many, many more.

GANGS

GREASERS

Leader – Ty

Who are they? – A bunch of rag-tag leather jacket wearing punks. They love fighting almost as much as the love drinking, and blare punk rock 24​/7. To join, you’ve gotta be one hell of a mechanic who’s willing to all the way with a car. Through various attacks and robberies, they’ve seized control of the automobile trade in Panty’s Landing and jacked the prices up high.

Hideout – The Junkyard. Located just down the street from the police station, the Junkyard is a bar mixed with, well, a junkyard. Walking through it is a misery of tetanus and oil spills, but it’s their home and they’ve learned to navigate it with ease. Ever since the Grandmas moved in across the street, they’ve been at war with them.

GRANDMAS

Leader – Ms. Missy.

Who are they? – A group of old-timers who may look sweet, but are vicious. They believe they can bring back the glory days of Danger’s Cove(they don’t know the name has changed) by killing enough “youngsters.” Their canes turn into shotguns, and if you interrupt their bingo game they’ll blow your brains all over the wall.

Hideout – Panty’s Landing --Penitentiary-- Nursing Home. Their former hideout, because very recently, the Greasers blew it to high hell! It was a --dangerous-- sweet --penitentiary-- nursing home which they packed to the brim with relics from their past. Antique clocks, books, and many other things.

BLAZERS

Leader – Lux

Who are they? – Unlike other gangs, the Blazers aren’t evil bastards. They’re isolationists who’d prefer to ignore the rest of Panty’s Landing, except when it comes to selling weed—and that’s just because they need to make money to survive. Anyone can join them, whether you can help or not, because they think of themselves as a community. Everyone looks out for everyone, and they don’t kill unless they absolutely gotta.

Hideout – Blazers Community. Once again, unlike other gangs, the Blazers didn’t have just a small building or two to their name. Through a lot of luck, they’d managed to build their own little section of the world, acquiring many buildings and a few very lucrative pot fields. They defend this territory with their life, vowing to have it be the one shining part of Panty’s Landing.

THE SANDWICH CULT

Leader – Sandwich (???)

Who are they? – Sandwich (???)

Hideout – Sandwich (???)

BLUDGEONERS

Leader – Big Bat.

Who are they? – A dudes only gang full of meathead steroid-junkies who love using weaker people as baseball bats. They aren’t profitable. They aren’t even really successful in any way. They just going around beating things, and people, up. More of a nuisance than a menace.

Hideout – A baseball field. They all sleep on the grass. One member was once pecked to death by a swallow.

TRIVIA

-There are hundreds of gangs in Panty’s Landing.

-There is a man named the ‘Gang Killer’ who goes around wiping out smaller gangs all by himself. Nobody knows exactly who he is, but he’s incredibly dangerous and Bon’s put a major bounty on his head.

-Once a year all the gangs get together for a meeting that sometimes turns into an orgy. This meeting is meant to promote peace, but often ends with a major brawl leaving many members dead.

PRODUCTION TRIVIA

-Gangs weren’t originally part of the story really at all. There was the section where Lucia beat a bunch of gang members up, but they didn’t really have unique vibes or anything like that. When we were building the website, the idea of the Greasers came out, then the Blazers, etc. It just kind of happened naturally!
