I asked myself whether or not it was right to use this channel to also remember important events that have marked the course of our history over the years.

Then I said to myself that this channel was created to give relief in tiring days and to abandon worries for a few minutes, but also to share thoughts and emotions even if these are sometimes as strong as today; and then I think this project was born to tell stories and this is a story told but unfortunately true.

I think everyone knows what the anniversary is today: it is the anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, the first Japanese city, and of history, to be hit by the nuclear bomb. And 75 years later we are still here to remember not to forget!

 The President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella, today issued the following declaration that I sign:

"Italy strongly supports the goal of a world free from nuclear weapons, through a progressive approach to disarmament that provides for the responsible involvement of each state.

Paying homage to the countless victims of those tragic events and to the many who, after surviving the bombings, suffered the devastating effects of radiation, means striving to create a peaceful world to fulfill the promise engraved on the Hiroshima cenotaph: "WE WILL NOT REPEAT THE ERROR".

I can only close this memory by citing some songs that in the texts they gave against that August 6, 1945 giving you a starting point to listen to them and also to read the history of this day so sad and moving for humanity.

 "Enola Gay" of the OMD recriminates the release of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima by the homonymous US bomber, citing some terms used by the US forces during the mission, such as "Little Boy", the code name used for the bomb itself, and also the release time "8:15" (in the English text "eight-fifteen").

  Francesco Guccini and the Nomads, to whom they dedicated the officer of Hiroshima who was an American aviator to the officer Claude Eatherly. As an officer of the United States Air Force he took part in the mission which culminated with the release of the atomic bomb Little Boy on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945.

These are the two musical memories that come to mind but many many others have told the drama of this sad story.

Needless to say, this evening I will go to remember this anniversary by raising the banner of peace once again in the hope that the cry of "Stop" by many like me, will one day put an end to these massacres of innocent people and I will do it in company of the Modena City Ramblers concert to be held in Turin right in the historic "Hirshima Mon amour" club .. an evening with my whole family, not to forget.

Mi sono posta la domanda se fosse giusto  o meno utilizzare questo canale per ricordare anche degli avvenimenti importanti che negli anni hanno segnato il corso della nostra storia.

Poi mi sono detta che questo canale è nato per dare sollievo nelle giornate faticose ed abbandonare per qualche minuto le preoccupazioni, ma anche condividere pensieri ed emozioni anche se questi alle volte sono forti come quello di oggi; e poi credo che questo progetto sia nato per raccontare storie e questa è una storia raccontata ma purtroppo vera.

Credo che tutti sappiano quale ricorrenza sia oggi:  è l’anniversario del bombardamento atomico su Hiroshima, prima città giapponese, e della storia, ad essere colpita dalla bomba nucleare. E 75 anni dopo siamo ancora qui a ricordare per non dimenticare!

 Il Presidente della Repubblica Italiana Sergio Mattarella, oggi ha rilasciato la seguente dichiarazione che io sottoscrivo:

"L’Italia sostiene con forza l’obiettivo di un mondo libero da armi nucleari, attraverso un approccio progressivo al disarmo che preveda il responsabile coinvolgimento di ogni Stato. 

Rendere omaggio alle innumerevoli vittime di quei tragici eventi e ai moltissimi che, sopravvissuti ai bombardamenti, subirono gli effetti devastanti delle radiazioni, significa impegnarsi per creare un mondo pacifico per adempiere la promessa incisa sul cenotafio di Hiroshima: “NON RIPETEREMO L’ERRORE».

Non posso che chiudere questo ricordo citando alcune canzoni che nei testi hanno dato contro a quel 6 Agosto 1945 dandovi spunto per andarle a sentire e anche a leggere la storia di questa giornata così triste e commovente per l'umanità.

In qualità di ufficiale dell'United States Air Force prese parte alla missione culminata con lo sgancio della bomba atomica Little Boy su Hiroshima il 6 agosto 1945. 

Questi i due ricordi in musica che mi vengono in mente ma tanti tanti altri  hanno raccontato il dramma di questa triste vicenda.

Io, inutile dirlo, questa sera andrò a ricordare questo anniversario alzando ancora una volta la bandiera della pace nella speranza che il grido di "Stop" da parte di tanti come me, possa un giorno mettere fine a queste stragi di innocenti e lo farò in compagnia del concerto dei Modena City Ramblers che si terrà a Torino proprio nello storico locale "Hirshima Mon amour".. una serata insieme a tutta la mia famiglia, per non dimenticare .
