Ok, big update so let's get right to it. I needed to change things up and put an end to the Bloodcrown production saga. With that in mind I'm announcing my next release: Flying High, the visual novel game with animated sex scenes.

Find attached, a preview clip of one of the sex scenes, animated by me, which you might recognize from the image set. This is a first look at what an animated sex scene will look like. It's just a draft clip, as I'm still testing things as I’m getting back into form, so there are some clipping issues, missing hair physics, etc, but I will pick things up quickly and the final version will be production quality. I've also included a shorter nude version, which has some basic jiggle physics. We'll have variants like this with the release as well.

If you need a reminder, here's a download link to the full release of Flying High (tier 1 - it's the same thing, just the access changes): https://www.dropbox.com/s/fjvx8jlpob9sy9r/2023-05-31-Flying%20High%20%28full%20set%29.zip?dl=0

Now let's go over what led to Flying High the visual novel.

Bloodcrown production had dragged on for years. It started out as a Maya project, then transitioned over to Blender and finally ended up as a fusion of various 3D software. Production never found stable footing though because I got sidetracked by various other projects and would never completely focus on production.

Then earlier this year, just as I thought I had finally settled on the perfect production workflow, a little old thing called... AI came along. I had previously passed off AI as a marketing gimmick, but this newer shiner model piqued my interest. A deep dive ensued and tools like ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion, Langchain, and the world of LLMs had my head spinning. This wasn't just a step forward for artists, this was literally the future of human technological progress. I believe we should count ourselves lucky as the generation to witness AGI.

I did not want to get sidetracked again, but after studying AI for just a couple of months it was crystal clear that any path that didn't include AI 'was' a side track. With that realization, my first objective was to adapt as fast as possible.

These were the inferences and the resulting plan:

My production favorite has never been creating images or animation; it is in fact pc gaming, so I was thrilled to figure out that AI would be the ideal companion to game development.

I love playing games, but have next to no experience making them so I chose visual novels as the easiest entry point. Visual novels are also ideal because they're made up of images and animation and I already had the perfect image set to test the waters with: Flying High. When working on Flying High I had loved the positions and wanted to see them animated, now I would get the chance. And finally, visual novels would allow for faster production cycles, which meant I could aim for my final goal, to release Christmas this year.

So this is what we've planned for Flying High:

  • release date: Christmas 2023
  • The visual novel will be based on the Flying High image set.
  • An engaging story is being written around the events that occurred in the image set, however, several changes to the story were made, so the sequence of events will differ in the visual novel and there will be several “good” and “bad” endings depending on the choices you make.
  • Whilst the presentation is mostly image based the visual novel format allows us to add sound, basic special effects, and animation to make the gaming experience dynamic and immersive, on par or better than a regular animation
  • A minimum of 10 sex animations will be added, with in total a minimum of 25 mins animated content
  • A minimum of 100 additional images will be added
  • Ai will play a fairly minor role in the creation of this visual novel content, all images and animations will be rendered in 3D
  • Patreons with subs of 6+ months will get the visual novel for free included with their sub

Bloodcrown's future:

Bloodcrown is on hold for the foreseeable future but I will pick up where Bloodlust left off when I have an existing, proven production workflow and know I can meet a deadline. It is likely going to be turned into a game at that point since I am no longer planning on producing anything other than games (for the next few releases at least).

Having said that, Bloodlust’s legacy will live on sooner than you may think. As I stated in my Cerene AI series, I would turn Cerene AI into a visual novel, if I was able to achieve certain AI milestones, which I have, so Cerene's origin story, which is obviously firmly rooted in Bloodlust lore will continue in the Bloodlust storyline, yet in a different setting and century. Obviously Flying High will be the top priority, so any serious progress shouldn't be expected until Flying High is complete.

Now that the cat is out of the bag, I'm happy to be posting lots of updates and animations directly related to Flying High the visual novel and I'm excited to see how my first adventure into gaming works out. Hope to see you along for the ride :D

We can't animate every sex scene from the image set, but let me know your favorites and it may still make the cut.

Been waiting for 4 years for BC and we will get nothing? Shameless ... at least give us the stuff you made even if it not 100% finished. Glad to hear that we will finaly get some new stuff other than boring collab but well see how it goes.

First of all let me just note how incredibly scummy is to post this on the 1st of June, when some people will probably be billed before seeing it. You've first promised a production update in March to mid April and now it's June. Even if you were waiting on some art from Flying High, the idea of abandoning Bloodlust was probably firmly in your head months ago, so you pretty much just squeezed a good couple of months up to half an year ouf of the patrons that were mostly interested in Bloodlust. Did your deluded mind tell you that people waiting for 5 years for an animation would have the blow lessend by the announcement of an addendum to an older work, most people consider just side stuff? I think not. Oh, gaming is your favorite production medium? Wow! Must have missed that the past 10 years or so I've been following your content. I really must be stupid, since I haven't seen it in any of your posts or comments on your site, your old forums or this patreon. The only attempts at VN demos were almost immediately forgotten. Please, this attempt at tugging at our heart strings and portraying yourself as a poor creator that can finally spread his wings is pathetic. Holy crap! 10 sex animations and 100 images in 7 months?!11!1! Is such speed possible? I mean it's possible for tons of artists that release updates to their VNs every 3-4 months with close to 1000 new images and tens of animations. But for Miro? Who knows. I suspect in November we'll get another "ow wait I've just discovered some other new tech and now have to refocus on that" post. So I've been a patron since the start. If I quit now do I get Flying High for free? I mean the last set you actually released was back in December 2021. I now have 1.5 years of pledges with absolutely no proper content received. It was only tryout animations, other people's work, collabs (which means 100% not your style) and AI generated attempts. For the mass of us that are here for Bloodlust and your animatations are you going to release any of your almost 5 years worth of WIP content? Are you just gonna lock them away? I say this without malice or without wanting to insult for the sake of insulting, but you are pretty trash as human being. It's good to work on what you like, and evolve, but a real person pays his debts before moving on. And the debt in this case has been dragged around for 5 years with multiple teases and estimates to string the crowd along. Now you come here to cry how you really wanted to make games all along and how focusing on that debt is not possible, even though you now have your perfect workflow, because ...(checks notes)... AI exists... aha... and you are abandoning that work to do something without AI... aha.... Why couldn't you spend the rest of the year working on your perfect workflow and doing Bloodlust, and paying at least part of your debt, instead of working on a new venture, that itself doesn't include AI? Surely you could have gotten a couple of scenes done. This is what I mean by trash. You would have been better served if you would have just said "I'm bored of it and eff my patrons who don't like it".

I genuinely don't understand the logic. If there was substantial work finished on bloodlust Lanessa why not just polish it up as best as possible and release to the patrons as a prototype film? There's nothing stopping you from rereleasing it again in the future after you perfect it to your satisfaction.

Randy White

Enough. If and when something worth buying shows up on Affect3D, I'll buy it there. Tired and disappointed.

I'm going to post this again since you avoided answering on my original comment. You said patreons with 6+ months get Flying High for free. I've supported you since you started this patreon and your last set release was in December 2021. That means that for the last 1.5 years all I got was Blender tryout animations, work 100% from other people and collabs of a handful of images where other people's work was clearly visible. Oh and AI stuff and Bloodcrown updates to string us along. If I quit now do I get the Flying High game? I have accumulated almost 3 times of patronage required to get it and have not received anything 'release' worthy in that time. Alternatively you could attempt to be a decent human being and release the fucking wips you have for bloodcrown. I don't want to wait another 5 years to see that.

affect3d_miro

not an animation but the image sets were releases all flying high animations will be completed in blender, so the transition was needed and will now yield results, but I agree took too long yes, pm us your details before you unsub, we'll work out a way to get the flying high release to you for free

Dwarfy

While I'm sad that Bloodcrown has officially been put on hold, i'm looking forward to the new VN idea. The fist animation looks good !

Haillo

I'm always happy for more animated/voiced futa on futa ;D

I was definitely looking forward to the blood crown full length video but am happy to have more frequent posts from you

Jack Blamo

If im honest, this seems a "BloodCrowns in the never mail" Glad youve had fun on our dime but considering what other artists have produced during the same time span I think this is a waste of my patronage. Dissapointed and I urge all reading this to make Miro less comfotable with failing to produce worthy content.

affect3d_miro

I know this doesn't look great atm for bloodcrown fans, but it's a necessary step and for the best overall including bloodcrown down the track the content that's coming up will be better

Are you at least going to release the blender models/assets to patrons so they can carry out the creation of the original vision for the project.

Anonymous

For the record, none of this "Had to happen" and this is not a "Necessary step" like you keep saying. This has all been a choice, and a misguided one at that. I am a recent patron, and I am seriously reconsidering if I wanna stick around. The new AI animations are substandard compared to the older free works that led me here. The concept of Novels and Games is not appealing, Since I have joined nothing here has been noteworthy or even exciting. Its all snippets of promises and nothing substantial. Add to the fact the new animations are more robotic and lower quality. I just wish I understood whats going on. There is a consistent lack of empathy or recognition of the fact that people feel betrayed and like their voice is unheard.

Dropbox is saying the folder doesn't exist. Is there a fixed link?

I was a fan of Miro's work since Bloodlust released and I figured out he was just keeping folks updated here and not on affect3d anymore. Boy was I wrong. Just re-subbed only to figure out I can cancel that sub immediately.

affect3d_miro

It works fine for us but we did upload another link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fjvx8jlpob9sy9r/2023-05-31-Flying%20High%20%28full%20set%29.zip?dl=0

Jhunt

Who gives a crap about Flying High or your AI art besides you? What a waste.

Yikes, what a waste of money...
