Visual novel test demo 2: Love Bite (Patreon)

We have another visual novel test demo for you today, this time traveling back in time to the Love Bite image set. This set has a good setup for some simple dialogue at the beginning, so we used it to test voice overs for the dialogues. FYI, in this version Marie is playing both voices (with a little pitch shifting for Lanessa) but for a finished version we'd have the actual voice actresses for each character voicing the lines and sex vocals. Let us know what you think.

If you have input on how the voice over works with the click-to-continue interactivity of the software, let us know. With the voice overs defining an unofficial length of time to view a dialogue, we now have the option of setting these scenes up more like a slideshow that autoplays after a set amount of time. Let us know if you'd enjoy that, or prefer the current setup where you move through at your own pace. Keep in mind, user decisions may get added in some sets, so there will sometimes be breaks in the action regardless.

We've are still playing with the text box. This time we used the software's default box (no frame or character portraits) but added an opacity slider that you can adjust in the preferences menu. We think some work can still be done on the text formatting so it displays nicely at low opacity, but let us know your thoughts on this versus the one in Flying High.

Once again, if you're a Mac user you may have some issues opening up the software. Fortunately, your fellow Patrons offered a lot of insight on how to get the last test running, so we've updated the read-me file to include those steps. If you are having trouble opening the app, please check the read-me file out.

I personally prefer the click to continue approach. The text box in this one is much better than in the Flying High test. I don't really think you need the character portraits to take up space in the box and the opacity slider was really needed.

Works and looks great for me. A longer version is needed for in depth testing :p

Enjoyed though usually I do not like the games and stuff in this format. Good that I could turn off the bottom grey screen behind the words. Will never replace the current still image slide shows we have now but it is a fun view. Always good to hear Marie

I think great voice overs make all the difference so hope to see this whole image set and all of flying high done this way when complete. Just this voice over of stills was hotter then most of the animated clips you guys have put out, especially with Marie's voice!

Amazing preview, loving these visual novel styles. Text and Voice is a huge add on to me, would love to see story text to read but with voice for the dialogue! Also loving the sound effects and of course the voice acting is great! Story adds so much (I want to repeat that!)

I am on MacOS 11.4. I cannot get the app to run no matter what I tried (even tried solution from last time). I looked at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202491 as a solution but the app just says 'cant open' with no options to override.

Very cool. I think this is format more conducive for telling a story. Your image sets have always been great, but having that extra bit of story makes it even better

Thank you! We'll definitely write the rest of the dialogues for Love Bite and Flying High, and then get SilkyMilk (Lanessa's voice actress) to come in for her lines. We do want to get the software working on more operating systems, but we'll release what we can as it's ready. -Marie

Thanks! When you say story text to read, do you mean narrative text like we had in Flying High? If so, that's good to know! We haven't quite figured out the narrative style for these texts just yet, and it will probably change from set to set, but knowing patrons are receptive to it gives us a lot of freedom on how to tell each story. =) -Marie

Sadly due to iOS restrictions, we won't be able to offer an iOS app unless you have a jail broken phone (and even then, we'd have no way to test it). Apple does not allow porn games in their App Store, so our long term approach for iPhone users will be a mobile web version. We're still working on getting this created, might take a while. -Marie

Hey Paul, sorry about that. Since these are just early demos, we haven't done a full test of the software using professional testers yet. When we do, we'll have proper start-up guides written for the various operating systems. The long term solution for Mac users, however, may just be using a web-based version however, due to Apple's anti-porn stance. We're still working on the web version, but when it's ready I'll be sure to do a release of all previous demos so users who aren't able to use this software can see what they missed. -Marie

1. I think dialogue text is too solid, it may be shown as voice come out like "Mmm..." then " Well would you look at that..." but if in rush then click to show all. 2. When it has box opacity, it may have the option to hide all text for enjoying its voice and effects. 3. I know it would not happen around but could it be possible for porting into APK type for the phone version. Well, it's for academic purposes in a restroom. Testing aside, Cerene seems to enjoy Homosexual. Even girls in the village have no dick but a man still has, right? Or they all have Erectile Dysfunction or not the right size.

In the Mac version of the Ren'py player, the menu options stay on the bottom of the screen full time the entire way through, which is somewhat immersion breaking. https://i.imgur.com/PhP8jCK.jpg Sorry to say, Marie, but the pitch shifting for Lanessa was not very successful in this test. I think you would have been better off simply pitching your natural voice lower to record for this, rather than attempting the pitch shift in software. In this case, Lanessa's voice sounds very much like it has been artificially altered (it almost sounds mechanized). Granted, if you were doing this "for real release" and not just a test run, you would be contracting Lanessa's voice actor for the work, so not a huge deal. And in case it wasn't obvious, just adding voice work and dialogue to this photoset adds a whole new storytelling dimension to the work. Because, of course Cerene doesn't have any problems with "going to the village" to plow some pussy ... but sometimes what she really wants and needs is a big thick cock to suck ...

Definitely like the auto play feature, I feel that when you choose to go at your own pace the sex sounds on certain slides will need to last a little bit longer in my option
