Episode 2: Our paths were fated to cross.
Continuing off from last time, Brandon and Miki head off to make their way to the pool to swim. We cut to the two after already grabbing their swimsuits, while Brandon has to wonder if letting Miki lead him is such a good idea.
She leads him to the locker room and before being able to ask about where the boys locker room is, he comes face to face with a fit girl in the middle of undressing. She only realizes anyone else is there once turning to grab her gym uniform and is in a humiliated mess from the sight of being seen half naked.
Some explaining takes place and things lead to the girl getting a chance to dress herself, then introduce herself as Nova the kickboxing club captain of the academy. There's a huge amount of dialogue between Brandon, Nova and Miki taking place to fully cover here. But some highlights are learning she's apparently part of a well known family of kickboxers.
During their brief conversation, Miki decides to get changed into her swimsuit, going behind a row of lockers out of sight. With her return and upon noticing she has no diaper on, Brandon rightfully questions her and it prompts Nova to step in and explain the conditions of the swimming pool.
After some explaining of the pool systems, she feels like it would be best if she joined them for a little bit before her practice. Since he was still pretty new with the conditions, leading them to the pool together.
At the pool, the group decides to have a friendly race together as means of having fun in the pool. During which, we figure out that Miki doesn't seem to be that great of a swimmer and Brandon helps her, as Nova takes notice of this too.
After their race comes to an end, Erika keeps her promise and shows up in her swimsuit to join the group, a bit confused to see another girl with them. After a introduction, the group plays a little game made up by Miki as it cuts to their swim time being over.
Miki and Erika decided to head back to the dorms for the night, tired out from their swim. While Nova and Brandon were figuring what to do, when he reminds her about her practice and she freaks out about being late.
Brandon feels at fault for causing her to be late and wonders if there's anything he can do to make it up to her, which leads her to asking if he'd like to come watch practice and he agrees to it.
Cuts to them at the gym, as Brandon is slowly introduced to the other two members of the kickboxing club. Allie & Rosa give Nova a bit of a hard time, teasing her lightly and throughout the events they take turns practicing together.
I'll keep it vague for the rest, but there's a bit of stuff to look forward to that pops up from the episode and left unfinished.
~Writer notes~
-This is the next part in episode 2, which came out being roughly 7000-8000 word count. Overall episode 2 came out being longer than episode 1 by 1000 word count. (episode 1=17,000 & episode 2=18,000)
-This was a crazy big part to tackle for the episode, if it isn't quite clear yet. Episode 2 focuses on a more laid back from the main academy story plot line introduced from episode 1. It's focus is split into 2 main themes, the pink werewolf (Rachel) story arc conclusion? & Befriending Nova.
-Fans of Nova will be overwhelmed I'd hope with how much there is to help players be introduced to her. While there is some similar stuff from her early game events put into the episode, there is still plenty that's new to make it feel enjoyable.
-A lot more time went into writing episode 2 and I believe part of this is simply that I had some issues getting the right tone of things set for the episode, getting going on it as early as I would've liked. My hope is that in November, now that I'm handling purely writing and management. I could speed things along a bit more, but also to keep in mind the amount of word count being done roughly so far on these episodes too.
-Not to spoiler anything ahead of time, but episode 2 should overall offer a nice pacing on it's focuses. While there isn't a whole lot of pure focus set with the academy, we'll soon see more of that as episode 2 hints at.
