Behind the scenes writing: Episode 2 (3/4) (Patreon)

Episode 2: Our paths were fated to cross.

Continuing from the last part. The trio (Brandon, Erika and Miki) cut to them at the cafeteria together for lunch, in mid conversation as Brandon concludes that Rachel was the pink werewolf, as they're curious as to why she would even dress up like that late at night.

They have her notebook for clues, but it's nothing but finely written notes for class and doodles she made.

In the middle of Erika trying to do some more digging into her notebook, Miki begins getting excited and we hear two familiar voices come near Brandon. He turns to find his buddies Joey and Nathan, he excuses himself from the table to go chat with them in private.

Brandon shares his thoughts that it's good to see the two again, glad they haven't been kicked out from the academy yet and a little bit of back and forth between Joey/Nathan take place. Which leads to them discussing how well they're doing with trying to secretly get some girls interested in them and they can't help but notice the girls Brandon was sitting with.

Some more discussion takes place over girls in general and as things heat up between Joey/Nathan, Brandon tries to get them to chill out and swap the topic quick. Brandon wonders what they think so far about the weird oddities at the academy so far, some stuff isn't sitting right with Brandon and it can be felt with the boys as well, as they try to figure out some plans briefly, but they realize that this conversation would be best suited in a more private area.

So they soon end their chats, exchange their phone numbers and while Brandon tries inviting the boys to come meet the two girls. Nathan declines, as they have some discovering to do still and so they head off.

Brandon returns to the girls, as they're a bit curious if those were his buddies he's mentioned about, as he confirms it and it seems Erika has something in mind to embarrass her brother. While trying to mention some stuff, Miki suddenly interrupts with a mention that Erika promised they'd go swimming today.

Erika doesn't recall this, but Miki reminds her and it leads to Erika saying that due to today's test results from the previous week. She realizes she needs to focus harder on her studies, but flips it onto Brandon, suggesting that her brother will go swim with her instead, getting her excited and of course he can't say no.

This all soon wraps up with Brandon trying to spark a reaction from Erika before they head off, hoping he could possibly get her to join them. Which she accepts defeat, that after a little bit of study. She'll meet them at the pool, and so Brandon and Miki head off to get their swimsuits.

~Writer notes~

-This is the next part in episode 2, which came out being roughly 3000-3500 word count.

-This whole section is completely new, but felt fitting to bridge the gap of events taking place. Focusing on offering a conclusion to the pink werewolf with just a little bit of unsolved answers left, seeing the return of Joey/Nathan since we last saw them and their concerns about the academy so far, building on the mystery.

-This section should offer a nice break between the two focuses of the episode, so far the first focus is the pink werewolf story arc which includes Rachel's intro. I'm sure maybe people can see what the focus coming up in the last part of episode 2 is going to be by now maybe? :P

-This bit of the episode was nice with how it was completely new and I think so far the way that episode 2 plays out should keep Erika and Miki in play, but also keep the player from having overload of them as we're introduced to new characters and shift who Brandon feels comfortable hanging out with more and more.
