About 3 or 4 days ago, my HDD suddenly died, so I lost ALL my works, references, recorded streams, sketches, screenshots and studies...

I have an M2 and an SSD but I used the HDD for files, I never thought I would have this problem.

I sent the HDD to a technician to help me recover the files and he said that tomorrow I will know if the files were saved or not...

The Ophelia fanart that I just posted was the only PSD that was saved, I heard some weird noises from my computer and I assumed it could be the HDD so I saved the PSD to another drive just in case and minutes later it died...

This directly affects the Dictator Hat tier because I do their commissions in parts and I lost them all... So if the files were lost, we can negotiate some solutions :(

EDIT: This doesn't affect the Patreon in general but the Zelda PSDs were on that HDD :(

EDIT 2: I've been very unlucky this month

If you've got the scratch to do so, I highly recommend setting up a local file server on your network (unRAID is generally viewed as the easiest way to do this). That way, not only is your data stored redundantly on multiple devices, but if you use a parity drive, you'll have built-in failure protection on the server. Plus you can use it for all manner of other things, like hosting your own personal streaming service with Plex.

Consider the 3-2-1 rule for backups: 3 total copies of your data, 2 local copies on different types of media(for example, your PC and an external drive), and 1 remote/offsite copy (for example, on cloud storage). For all my goodies, I use a network-attached storage (NAS) server, a pair of external hard drives, and Dropbox.

That sucks, sorry to hear :(

I'm really sorry to hear that. A cheap and easy backup I use is Backblaze. It's like $60/yr and backs up everything on my computer. Doesn't need anything fancy to set up either, just install on computer and go
