Hello hello everyone,

and welcome back to Targa Florio Special Stage!

Phew, this one took a bit of time. The grid that was added this time have plenty of road parts crossing them, so it took more work getting them done.

But this one will be the final length of the special stage. I will not add anymore road than this. So the special stage end about a kilometer after Collesano. We got all the materials we need to experiment on, so from now I'm going to focus on improving what needs to be improved. Most of what we're doing here is transferrable to the new main track, so it is time to learn and improve as much as we can!

And right off the bat, I learned some precious things last 2 days. You see, the one process that took the longest to get this update ready was to close the gap between landscape meshes of different LODs. The gap appeared when a LOD A mesh is side by side with a LOD B mesh that has a much lower resolution.

But when I was working on it this Saturday, I had this eureka moment, and suddenly, a 10 minutes process becomes a 10 seconds process lol.

You will still see some gaps in the distance, because I haven't finished working with the LOD C meshes yet. It needs a slightly different method so I decided to release this one first.

Here is the Targa Florio Special Stage v.0.3.0

One more important thing to mention is, Beni has been in Sicily since last week. Taking the last batch of scan and photos around the track. This one should be the last data gathering on site. Thankfully the weather has been very conducive most of the time, and He managed to get a very good data all around safely.

He send me a photo from the hotel he's staying at Scillato:

Well I'm jealous, that's for sure. hahaha.

Today as this update is posted, he will be going back home, and we'll start processing the data. It will take a bit of time, so we should be able to wrap up the Special Stage by the time the data is ready, and we can go full send on the new version of the Main track.

We'll keep you posted on the progress!

stay safe, stay healthy, and as always, thank you!
