Greetings everyone, Leo here. For those of you who are new and not in the know; I'm Suede's spouse, video editor, artist, and overall gopher (I jest!). Basically the one happy to help from the sidelines, but very much the other half of the Suede team. I use they/them pronouns. You'll be seeing me, as well as Suede, posting updates from here on. :>

First off, thank you all for your massive help and gathering round to support Suede during this really, REALLY crap year so far! For sharing the video, becoming patrons, and subscribing to the new channel.

As for the Shopro gambit, things are still unchanged as of Suede's last video. As far as we know the channel will be deleted once the case gets through Japanese court in a few months. We're playing cautious and will be using Suede's new channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaTuinpDb_pIhuF0QOPXyRQ. Don't forget to subscribe there for all future videos!

Going forward:

Suede and I have some great ideas for the future. Our hope is this will be a blessing in disguise. As much as we love Suede's Pokemon journey, it has been scary to try and venture out from that content, but it can be stressful to be stuck with all your eggs in one basket. We want to keep our core audience happy, always, however we can also use this chance to try new things and branch out into videos making use of Suede's great humour and observations. Please don't think we are not cautious though. We don't want to have the same thing happen that was Demo Reel at Channel Awesome.

Before all the Shopro stuff we had just signed a lease for a small office. For the first time we were excited to have an actual workplace, seperated from home, where we have all been working for the past 8 years. If you all thought lockdown while working and having kids home from school was hard, imagine that x 8 years... 0_0

Trust us, having your support to be able to work from home for so long was amazing. Over the past two years though, it's become increasingly difficult. We live in a small (technically tiny) house, and with a child who's energy could power an entire continent (we seriously have the world's answer for clean, renewable energy here if anyone knows how to harness it </parent joke>). The noise, lack of workspace, and busy family life have made Suede (and my) work incredibly difficult. So we made the risky move to lease an office. And as soon as we did the Shopro thing happened... fun!

But, again, this could be a good thing. As soon as we get the keys to said office (hopefully this week) we can turn it into a dedicated production space solely for making content for you all. This will include lots of experimental clips as we run ideas past you all. We want to make sure you are happy with the new stuff. We know nothing will ever replace Suede's Pokemon Journey, especially to us. It was such a great format, and we know losing that is hard. We are not rushing to replace the dead canary. We want you all to give plenty of feedback and thoughts of clips we'll upload.

This month expect, at least,  Suede continuing with Pokémon Legends: Arceus playthrough while we get the office sorted and all the equipment we'll need. If we get it sorted this week (fingers crossed), we want to start working on test clips. We will be changing patreon tier rewards as well to suit the new content, but this will be after we get the new formats settled on.

Please feel free to offer any ideas for content you'd love to see, no matter how out of the box it might be ("Suede, review jandals!"). I personally keep bugging him about reviewing more preschool shows. X>

(Note from Suede: Don't worry, We will mainly be attempting to reformat Journey and most test clips will be attempts at that, so don't think we're abandoning it at all. We just want to consider other options at the same time.)

Thank you all so much. Again, we would not have been able to get by without having such a great fanbase.

I wonder, this might not be feasible at all or possibly still in violation of Japanese, but I've been hearing that there are new programs that make producing webcomics quicker and easier. Allowing to copy images or generate backgrounds. I know both of you are into art, could you like draw slides to be the background for your voice over? Animating it would probably be way too much work but I wonder if you could get away with a few nice or comedic stills maybe mixed in with images from the show when you need to demonstrate something? Yeah I've sat through a few of these brainstorming reboot sessions, I don't mind another. I also thought the pre-school shows episode was funny. I still remember it.

It just occurred to me that a Pokémon Journey in the style of Zero Punctuation could actually be really fun. However, no matter what form future content takes, both Suede and you can count on my continued patronage and support!

I would like to see Suede carry on with AshGray as well as Legends: Arceus if he's happy to do that. I was enjoying watching him play through the series reviewing the game as he went, so it'd be great to see that continue if possible, along with putting up the previous parts on either the new channel or Dailymotion if he still has them.

Timothy Whitfield

I'd love to see Suede do playthroughs of point-and-click adventure games he either grew up playing or never played before.

Michael McKinney

Lmao. Suede isn’t ruthlessly cruel enough to copy Yahtzee’s patented cynical style!

As a parent of two young children I fully sympathize. I look forward to what you guys come up with, even if you end up moving away from pokemon I'll look forward to seeing it. As for ideas, what if you came up with what kind of Pokemon different fictional characters would use in your opinion. Like say if Sherlock Holmes was a Pokemon trainer what kind of Pokemon would he use, or Batman, or Belle from Beauty and the Beast, etc.

If it's not at risk, because of how transformative it is, AMV Heaven was an *amazing* show. Doing some of that might be a possibility. I would also recommend that the Patreon be moved, temporarily, to 'monthly' while you are trying things out. It will allow you to stagger output while you're working with these things, and still allow people to support you while it happens.

I'd love to see more Ace Attorney content from Suede. Although I wouldn't blame him for wanting to stay away from any Japanese media for a while.

On the preschool shows subject, just because I remember him bringing it up once, how about Suede’s Neverland Journey. (Jake and the Neverland Pirates)

I'm willing to support you guys no matter what. I was so sad when the videos were gone. I know there is a group that put their videos on their facebook page so the fans can still watch them even if they get taken down. That might be another option. Let us know what we can do to help.

Could the Pokémon Journeys be made in the future with blurred filter and no original sound? I see some Youtubers commenting on anime (mostly from the lost media community) with clips blurred for copyright reasons, and it apparently works fine for them

I have a suggestion! ever heard of a YouTube channel called "overly sarcastic productions"? they have a unique way of telling stories (I'll give you a link to an older video at the bottom to save you from a clumsy attempt to explain) maybe you could commission them to do something similar for you? of at the very least primate artist who could? https://youtu.be/61nuXrvqNgI

I think seeing more suede-played content would be cool, like when he played that nancy drew game or when they cry.

A fellow OSP fan, eh? Easily one of my favorite Youtube channels, I especially love Red; good art style that's developed over time, incredibly witty, and she shares my mutual love of mythology...and my hatred for the overchristianization of specific pantheons. Lookin at YOU, Norway!
