You missed a potential trivia that may or may not come back in future Sakura episodes. In that conversation where Misty and Sakura talk about their similarities, one of the things that was brought up was that Sakura is the same name as Sakura aka Daisy aka Misty's sister.

For the record, I still think Ash was treating Hoothoot like he did out of both stress and admittedly some of his anti-Gary complex. Think about it; here you are, stuck in a forest you could potentially get lost in forever, full of trickster Haunters and Gengars, and your only hope is seemingly too cowardly to do his job. You'd be pretty both irrational and kind of a dick. Granted, Ash wasn't exactly improving the situation, it's simply that there was a method to the dickery. And if it sounds like I'm defending the episode..in all honesty, I ain't. The episode itself is far from their best, and even then, Ash's behavior is still kinda hard to watch regardless.

I liked this episode, I thought Japanese culture went out the window in Johto, good to know it lasted a little longer actually. 4kids even let some Japanese characters intact, shockingly!

Maybe they changed the Kimono Sisters names in the game because of character limitation? If I recall correctly the English translator fought to add a second page to Pokédex entries because the English text couldn't fit in just one page. And as anyone who has ever subtitled animes know, Japanese is usually a more concise and synthetical language than the Western ones.

Dude all I've been hearing from you is friggin whining alot of the episodes and it's so frustrating cause I think your a fair reviewer but all you ever seem to do lately is pick apart every thing the episode does and spin it in a negative light. Episodes you said were bad really were'nt,this one included. I thought this episode did a fantastic job of showing how Sakura was not ready and she was relying too much on other people. I want to keep watching your stuff I really do but all of the cynicism and complaining is just making it really hard.

I feel his critism was valid. Everything was setting up for Sakura to join the group (be it temporary or permant) but they wussed out at the last minute
