...And there we go! Thanks for being so patient with me, poor Seth got a nasty asthma attack and had to stay at the hospital for a night (He's absolutely fine now) We weren't sure if we could get it done but luckily we just made it. Lesson ONCE AGAIN learned: don't put it off! Let's see if it'll actually stick or if I'll pull an Ash!

Wasn't the fast ball intended to work better on Pokemon that are likely to run, not ones with higher speed? That said the end result was still Magnamite and a few others, rather than as intended.

AussieDragoon

I mean, they were kind of stuck on the level ball thing since that is what Red Apricorns turn into. My guess is k-fabe wise it works better on pokemon at different evolution levels. And on the note of 2 balls from this episode, I really don't get why Brock never uses the Heavy Ball or why it's never shown that he has it again (might explain why it took him 425 episodes to catch a 3rd rock-type though). It's funny though that he would eventually catch the other fake plant pokemon from Johto later. On the other note, I don't get why when it was decided to use Celebi for the 4th movie why they didn't just use the GS ball there, like instead of a bunch on Celebi just showing up at the end, have the one in the GS ball be what save's Sammy's Celebi if not be the main one.

They also could've introduced the GS ball as part of movie 4's plot by having it be delivered to X film character via Kurt, for research purposes or something.

I prefer my moon balls covered in banana flavoring! The funny enough I literally bought one covered in strawberry flavoring today just on a whim.

Makes me wonder why couldn't they just use the GS ball in the 4Ever movie.

I don't like the joke about how the love ball is problematic. it's used to catch aniamls not people and we already live in a world where most pokemon if you have enough badges will listen and love you after catching it i don't see why having a ball that plays on animals needs to find mates to reproduce puts us any higher or lower down the morally questionable ladder

Anonymous

Accidental pride gets a 'yay' but if it had been straight then it's 'problematic' -_- is forcing a sexuality implication bad or not? Or is it only bad when it's... I don't think you mean it to come across that way but it at least to me it did.

Suede

I get what you're saying but homosexuality in animals is already buried enough without a ball implying that it doesn't happen. The accidental pride was likewise acknowledging that its not often represented. That said, I probably will rewrite it so that my intention is a lot clearer, so thanks for the input!

Yeah the Apricorn balls would be a hard thing to translate to in-show logic since some are so rooted in game logic. How I would probably translate some of them to the show logic. Level ball: Works better the less fully evolved a pokemon is. Friend ball: Cosmetic/works better the less aggressive the pokemon is? Love ball: Cosmetic... Its too much of a bag of worms.

Of course! But I see the love ball as a way to trick a pokemon into thinking it will find a mate not for love but for reproductive breeding since it needs a member of the opposite sex, not really a love ball at all but it was the late 90s early 2000s. Didn't mean to say that an animal can't be homosexual, there's even cases in pokemon media where that happens

brok never used the heavy ball

Gungelion

If you take the shot for every time he says ball or ball's you'd be dead in five minutes. This episode was had ball's is what I'm saying lol

Brock's "Woo!" is a classic

Mark Lynn

I remember Misty simply stating "What? That's just a vacuum cleaner" of Apricorn sucking machine yet James puns to "clean and suck up their theft" and then the giant fan "Speak unkindly about fans you won't be famous as we are"

Mark Lynn

James [Releasing Victreebel]: Victreebel, get the creep!! {Victreebel bites James as usual] Not me! The other creep; the pineco!

Mark Lynn

James brings out the vacuum cleaner; "Allow me to introduce the state of the art in Apricorn Harvesting Technology for the budget-minded Pokeball Enthusiast!" Misty: WHAT!?! That's just an old vacuum cleaner! Then James: "Behold Team Rocket's new and improved technologically advanced economy model Apricorn Harvesting Machine!" simple a bike, with array of light-bulbs and finally the giant fan which is producing the wind. Misty: Is not! That thing's just a crummy old fan!" Jessie: If you speak so unkindly about fans you'll never be as famous as we are!" BA DUM TSS!
