Interesting about the God line, there's at least an Oxford study showing that children seem to be born as theists.

What's interesting to note is that Takeshi Shudo family estate owns the rights to the character of Mewtwo in this film, which is why Newtwo was created.

Really cool to see you do a review of this so soon! I enjoyed MSBE more than you did for sure, though a lot of that may have been the novelty of seeing a Pokemon movie with Japanese audio for my first time watching it, getting to appreciate the different performances. I still hope they go back to making original, 2D animated movies after this, though, no matter how impressive the CG was. You may be giving the dub team a *little* too much credit for "getting the original narrator back". Rodger Parsons has been the regular narrator for the series and the animated movies since the Battle Frontier season, in 2006. He was only gone for most of the last 3 4Kids seasons. (Similar situation with Ted Lewis, who has been Giovanni since 2008 and only wasn't for a couple of years.) It's a good thing, too. Hearing his voice in even the newest episodes is... nostalgically comforting. Also, hearing your dissatisfaction with James's modern voice prompted me to look up James Carter Cathcart on Bulbapedia, and he apparently posted anonymously on Pokémon forums when he was cast as James to praise his own performance and insult Eric Stuart and Ted Lewis??? That is wild. I'm kind of upset to learn that a fixture of the Pokémon dub would behave like that.
