Well, now that the Season is finally over, that can mean only one thing: The recap! If you're a recent patron or just forgot, I do a big overview video of the season past which includes a super-brief synopsis of each individual episode. It's fun, but it can be exhausting coming up with a glib remark for each episode.

This is where you come in! In the comments below, put a humorous, 1 or 2 sentence review of an episode ALONG WITH THE EPISODE NUMBER and I'll credit you in the video if I use it! No guarantees but give it a shot anyway, who knows what'll happen. Good luck!

Episode 112: Ash wins the League but somehow, nobody remembers it.

Cross-Reset

108: Ash and the fellows know full well what this badass mother of one of Ash's clones can do. Surprisingly no talk of either their non-mentioned fathers.

Cross-Reset

We Ash fans actually do, it is just that people decide it doesn't count. Expect a similar reaction if Ash wins Alola...ironically probably reversed.

Verdant Range

EP084: Ash and Misty find they have to deal with a giant baby joining up with them. Also, they save an infant Lapras that Ash catches. EP088: Ash and the gang have to protect the rare Pink Pokemon on Pinkan Island from pilfering poachers. Boy, people really want Pokemon with weird alternate color schemes. EP094: The gang has to protect an island from a Snorlax that wants to devour everything and seems unstoppable. If ONLY one of their Pokemon knew Sleep Powder. EP098: The group stops on an island, eat sandwiches and nap. Skip. EP105: After Charizard is put on ice, it's temper towards Ash cools and they reforge their bond before beating up a dudebro's frog with lame animation. EP110: After Ash and Tracey get dusted, it's Misty to the rescue with a Pokemon that catches and TOTALLY isn't set-up for something in the next game. EP114: The gang stupidly decides to go into a place they saw was quarantined off and exploding when they meet up with a Cowboy trying to move the living bombs away. Unfortunately, it 's taking to long until he tells his Diglett and Dugtrio to try winning. EP116: After having his first battle with Gary and dropping off the GS Ball in the last episode, Ash has to pick it up again to take it to take it to ANOTHER far away region. At least Tracey's gone and Brock's back.

Episode 109: Must have been as boring as watching fish grow up in the japanese version, as it was without the groucho Marx impressionist and his Marxian jokes.

88: Government officials stop poachers from reaching an island easily accessed by kids through nothing but secrecy. It somehow works except when the plot shows up on the island. 89: Crazy man tries to kill Joy for pursuing fields other than nursing. The island collapses when its foundation wakes up. 90: A episode so meta it features lamp-shading, voice over jokes, and a cameo form me. 92: Almond Joy saves lives all across the archipelago in any weather. Proof that candy is good for you. 93: *to the tune of the Milo Murphy's Law theme song* ♫ Look at that cliff, it's sublime, no badge for you if you can't climb. I'm gonna hit on young Misty, I'm about as creepy as I can be. ♫ 96: The Pokemon version of the cannibal island from Pirates 2, only good. 98: DO SOMETHING!!!! 100: The show gives me an excuse to crossover with Dom. 102: An obviously evil mayor is opposed by no one until a mistake from his childhood comes back to bite him. 108: Ash gets mistaken for a different eternal 10-year-old by an enthusiastic mother. They then proceed to inspire VGC. 109: Tracy sketches a boring episode in his pajamas. How it got into his pajamas he'll never know. 113: Misty single-handedly defeats a crew of pirates. Ash bids farewell to his HM slave. Hope that's not too many suggestions.

Episode 93 Naval Maneuvers: Ash earns another badge by surviving a life-threatening climb and harrowing sled race. This somehow manages to be dull, even with a serial killer for competition.

Matt Storrs

Episode 86: Butch and Cassidy come up with an intriguing plan that leads to an exciting episode with great tension and high stakes. Only remembered for the "Angry Pikachu" meme. Episode 89: The gang are attacked by fossil Pokemon AGAIN after failing to heed to warnings of your standard Lovecraft prophet. Episode 91: The writers forego giving Psyduck actual character development in favor of a joke at the expense of Brock. Episode 96: A cult that takes cat videos WAY too seriously kidnaps our villains in the pursuit of money. This is probably the most heartwarming episode of the season. Episode 103: The dub adds in a ton of Pokeshipping tease that TORE OUR HEARTS OUT DOWN THE LINE YOU MONSTERS! Oh, and Ash won his third island challenge.

Matt Storrs

Sorry, wasn't done. Episode 100: Pokemon does "Romeo and Juliet", and is still somehow more accurate to the source material than the Leonardo DiCaprio version.

Episode 97 Tracy Gets Bugged: Despite 4Kids’ best efforts and shoddy animation, this adventure sees a Scyther rise back up from his failure as our heroes also show growth. Well, except for the trainer that actually catches him.

Lucas Neumeyer (NEW-my-er)

81: Team Rocket ruin Ash's picnic with spicy food before they get out spiced by Charizard 82: The fearo Ash provoked in the first episode cashes in on a reeeeally long grudge until pidgeotto evolves and is then abandoned... wait, this was the same episode? 82 (for real): Both Team Rocket and The Twerps are suckered into Giovanni's insurance scam by riding a dilapidated dirigible. 86: Remember Hypno's Naptime? What if it was good? What if Hypno turned all the Pokemon evil? What if the Rocket B Team returned? What if Pikachu made a terrifying face? All these answers and more await. 90: I'm part of a crew of Pokemon voice actors and Ash helps my boss learn to trust her Richu when our ferry boat is raided by some weird yakuza poachers. 91: Misty battles another trainer's Psyduck when her own Psyduck evolves absolutely totes for realz no take backs except it doesn't. 96: An isolated, moneyloving, furry cult mistake Meowth for a God. Fame goes to his head. but thankfully the day is saved with bottlecaps. 99: Pokemon Master Prima drops in on the Twerps to offer vague advise which no one listens to because everyone is too busy staring at her chest. 110: Misty has to overcome James, Meowth, and free makeup in order to get the medicine to help her friends. Goldeen decides to be useful for the first and last time.

Curtis Charles

Episode101: Rolling Rolling Rolling, keep them Pokès Rolling Rawhide Head 'em up, move 'em on Move 'em on, head 'em up Rawhide! Episode 102: the gang journey into the sewer and instead of a alligator or balloon wielding clown, they meet an abandoned Bulbasaur, and exact vengeance on a corrupt political figure.

Joe Crammond

Episode 93: We get a reversal of Wake Up Snorlax! as Ash, Misty and some guy try to put a Snorlax to sleep to prevent it from decimating an island full of grapefruit

102: The gang somehow expose a government official for abusing weed and his pet both simultaneously while playing Super Mario Bros. 105: Ash finally learns how to train his Fire/Flying pseudo-dragon once said dragon learns to cool his hot-hotheadedness.

Brandon K

112: Ash Wins, wait what? Also Rocket distraction for a second.

Brandon K

actually that should be done the other way around, 112: Rocket distractions for a second. Also Ash Wins, wait, WHAT!

Tentomon4

Aw man, I'm way behind. Gonna catch up.

105 "Charizard Chills": “Enemy Poliwrath used Ice Beam! Charizard was frozen solid!” Ash thaws out both his body and his heart, leading to a newfound respect between the two.

87 “The Crystal Onix”: Gen 2 teasing with Pokémon Crystal and Pikablu…er…Marill. And inspiration comes from lighting things on fire.

The Wacky Watcher - ep. 109: The gang meet Groucho Marx's much nicer but no less witty cousin than try to stop Team Rocket from drowning fish... wait...

102 Ash and friends stop a grimy, nasty, and dirty politician by unlawfully going into the sewers.

81: Pallet Town throws a party for Ash before Team Rocket ruins it via tasty-looking animated food. His Pidgeotto evolves and leaves forever while Gary is reported missing. 82: The gang win a fake lottery devised to go on a blimp that gets a “it’s haunted” side-plot just to add more time. 83: The gang meets a professor who totally cloned her children to send them the most infamous unknown McGuffin in any TV show ever. Oh, and Brock stays there because the professor’s smoking hot. 84: Ash befriends a Lapras as Tracey gets an introduction that tries too hard to be quirky. He also has a last name, so Misty must feel very awkward, unless we go by her Waterflower fanon name. 86: The Pokemon turn heel on their trainers through powerful signals from a Drowzee. Said Drowzee dies in the explosion at the end, press “F” to pay respects. 87: This shiny, crystal Onix looks really cool. Also, it’s not an ice-type for some reason. 88: The writers listened to a bit too much Aerosmith, so they just kinda make a gimmick island where everyone is pink. Also, Togepi’s metronome antics. LAUGH! 89: These cool Kabuto actually are going to doom this island someday. Said day ended up happening as soon as the twerps get involved. 90: A trainer tries to calm her shy, yet kinda dangerous Raichu through getting electrocuted by it. It also features the best and only lip-flap joke known to man. 91: Psyduck’s tail glows, making it seem like it might evolve. It ended up going nowhere and it doesn’t evolve. 93: The Gym Leader forces Ash to get through challenges that could kill him. Luckily, Ash is indestructible, because Pokemon trainers are less often to get injured compared to Pokemon. 94: A Snorlax completely destroys the food economy of these small islands. This is honestly a horror-themed episode. 95: The gang goes to a haunted boat surrounded by Ghastly and Haunter because of course it is. Also, MOAR Togepi hijinx! 96: Meowth gets hailed as a ruler of the Orange Island’s equivalent of North Sentinel Island. Also, the twerps are in this episode for a total of 5 minutes, which is…honestly surprising. 97: Everyone gets character development except for Tracey. What an ironic twist. 98: To quote Nathan Explosion: NOTHIIIIIIIIIIIIIING. 99: The animators get a little too excited for Prima’s Lorelei’s. She’s also clearly has smoked a few pipes before meeting the gang. 100: The twerps are a little too invested in the Nidoran love story. They acted more like a friendlier version of Team Rocket in it. 101: Normalizing child labor; the episode. 102: Scummy mayor gets karma from a Bulbasaur he abandoned in the sewers. Unfortunately, he’s naked while doing so, likely scarring kids watching this. 103: The ultimate ship tease episode. Also, there’s a Gym episode somewhere around here. 104: Pikachu and Meowth turn into best friends after bonding through bondage—I mean, by being chained to each other—I mean, you get the picture. 105: Charizard tries to win against a Poliwrath with a random swaggy belt. It also finally listens to Ash through, as expected, weird reasons. 106: Squirtle Squad part two! But this time, there’s a Wartortle and firefighting is involved. 107: Apparently, Pokeballs can be easily breakable. Also, one of the few times where Team Rocket can be sort of sociopathic just to get a Pikachu. 108: The tag-team gym episode with a Mom as a gym leader whose name isn’t even aknowleged in the dub. What is it, Moana? Nana? 109: Groucho Marx look-a-like inspects on why Magikarp are Magikarping. More quirky than it sounds. 110: Misty gains a Poliwag so this gets the honor on NOT being filler! Also, Goldeen combo-wombos Victreebel for what feels like an eternity. 111:The twerps still don’t know what a Dragonite looks like. Also, no tournament arc because they need to rush it up now.

Episode 105 Charizard Chills: A heartwarming and ice melting story about Charizard and Ash bonding to overcome a tadbro. Still holds up as long as you don’t look toooo closely.

Anonymous

81: Ash’s Pidgeotto evolves to battle the Fearow from the first episode in a nice callback. Ash will totally come back for it. Right after we see what’s inside that GS Ball he gets in this episode. 82: The gang board a blimp run by Team Rocket. Giovanni has an insurance plan it’s all going to work out. 83: The twerps learn about Valencia Island and how Professor Ivy cares for Pokemon. Also, Brock decides to stay in the last five minutes to get some hands on learning. 84: Ash gets a brand new useful traveling companion. This is because he now has a new HM slave in Lapras. 85: The Orange Island’s Island Trials prove how fascinating they are by having Pokemon squirt cans. At least the water race ends with a splash. 86: A secret Drowzee manages to mind control trainer’s Pokemon in a crazy scheme from Team Rocket. Hypno’s Naptime done well. Beautiful animation, choreography, easy Master Ball 87: A crystal Onix, and a unique location helps this episode shine. Still weird that shiny Onix didn’t end up being crystal though. 90: Pokemon voice acting behind the scenes. Really cool conceptually how they have a Pokemon Showboat. Though some of the execution sinks, it manages to captivate with its theatrics. 91: All the ducks were lined up for Psyduck to finally evolve and gain a character arc and a unique personality…. Only for it to accomplish nothing. 93: A psychotic Gym Leader decides to hit on a girl half his age and have Ash climb dangerous mountains for fun. 94: Another old episode done better, this time Wake Up Snorlax’s stakes amped up to a full food frenzy. Also Ash captures a Snorlax, which is awesome. 95: An opportunity to see Pokemon pirates that didn’ t stand a ghost of a chance. Missed potential, though we get a look at at a haunted ship and the old Orange league, which is pretty cool. 96: A beautiful Team Rocket centered episode, highlighting aspects of our favorite trio, especially Meowth. Golden Bottle Caps like this are why it’s worth keeping Team Rocket around. 97: Tracey captures a totally awesome Pokemon by getting a Scyther. Yes, I said Tracey. 98: All the Pokemon sleep for 22 minutes, as do I . Plus we get to see Charizard and Scyther not fight each other. 100: Romeo and Juliet, Nidoran style. Who’d of thought Pokemonized Shakespeare can provide its own unique take. Too bad Nidorina can’t breed after it evolves. 101: Electronic bull wrangling magnets! Only in Pokemon. 103: A neat Gym episode, with type strategies and cool battles. Enjoy the Pokeshipping while it lasts! 104: Pikachu and Meowth get tethered together to have nice bonding moments, after surviving Giant Monster Island. 105: Charizard finally respects Ash as a trainer, after saving him from being frozen solid. Now, they can have burning ambitions together. 107: Ash leads Snorlax up a hill by dressing up as an apple. But does this episode pull its weight? 108: The final Gym has its first real double battle with Pikachu and Charizard learning to work as a team against not-Richie’s Mom! The Orange Islands loves giving ideas to the games doesn’t it.? 109: An entire episode dedicated to Magikarp going up a river….I’m serious. Luckily a Groucho Marx caricature and his splashing persona saves this from being a textbook rock. 110: A nice Misty centric episode. She even gets to obtain a Poliwag. Also, James looks good in drag. 111: The Orange League kicks into full swing with a 6 on 6 battle that already stomps on the entire Indigo League. Yes everyone, that’s a Dragonite. 112: Ash wins a league. * glitchy sound effects * 113: Ash releases his HM slave as we finally get to see Pokemon pirates! But argh matey, their execution really walks the plank. 114: Rock Polish, Rock Smash, Stealth Rock, textbook rock! This really digs its way to rock bottom. 115: Brock really rocks out this otherwise meh episode with his solid return. Though Ash and Gary finally get to battle too…with a cliffhanger

Verdant Range

112: Ash wins the Orange League. I'm sure that's something that will NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVer happen again.

James Bevan

This is off topic, but something I thought I should address. Suede, I think you should unfollow James Portnow (of Extra Credits) on social media considering what he's been accused of.

Commander672

Thoughts: "ALOLA IS LITERALLY THE ORANGE LEAGUE BUT LONGER AAAAHHH"

Neo Ultra Mike

112: Ash wins an official League. Enjoy that moment fans it will take TWENTY YEARS FOR IT TO HAPPEN AGAIN!

Episode 99: boobs

Christopher Borriello

#081: What a bird! What a bird! Aaannnd...it's gone! So...sad? #082: Shenanigans onboard an airborne insurance scam! Down we go! #083: Our first female professor, and last for multiple generations! Once we collect the MacGuffin, au revoir to one of our best-known characters. So long, "forever", Brock! #084: Save an abused marine mammal (or whatever a Lapras is), get free ferry rides! Also: create seasonal formula! #085: Our first gym challenge, and it's water challenges as you might see in real sports! If only it were remotely interesting in execution! #086: An evil tapir hijacks numerous characters' minds, turning them evil! It's horrifying and scary and it's great! The only flaw is in setting up a deus ex machina that will NEVER be overused... #087: A shiny snake like no other leads to the perfect glassblowing skills! By...looking at it, I guess... #088: A truly memorable episode of a bunch of Pokemon having alternate shiny forms. Shame the episode has nothing else that warrants its existence. Also, Tracey's something of a voyeur... #089: Doomsday's upon us because a bunch of fossils are waking up! Thank Arceus we have a crazy old man who keeps trying to kill us to save the day! #090: Voice acting gets meta like nothing else! Also, a Raichu that's actually not portrayed as an antagonist for once! #091: Playboy psychic platypus takes the focus away from a Misty episode. Oh well... #092: The most unique Joy yet! And Tracey's a condescending ass who doesn't believe that she, a medical professional, has any idea what she's doing! At least the giant Gyarados is cool... #093: The thrills of the next gym battle's unique challenge is undermined by an unexplored absence of all but the gym leader, who's also a pervert. This whole thing is just...eh. #094: Full do-over of the Snorlax episode with high stakes and an actual purpose for Jigglypuff! Also, Ash catches a rare Pokemon! #095: A haunted ship and the tiniest of looks into the Pokemon world's past! Also Togepi something something. #096: Meowth is king of the island! Turns it away when his friends show how much they care. (sniff) I'm not crying, we're ALL crying! #097: One of only two Tracey episodes and it's really about someone else. At least Scyther is damn cool as always. #098: Apparently everyone except the animators (to an extent) went on holiday here, because this episode has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO OFFER. #099: The second time we see an Elite Four member, and she comes off really flat in delivery and writing and anything BUT flat in the animation. Also, Ash is an oaf. #100: A fluffy little adaptation of Romeo & Juliet involving the only Pokemon to be differentiated entirely into different species by way of gender. I dig it. #101: A fluffy little Western bit involving ranching for electricity. It's...fine. #102: A REALLY fluffy little monster bit involving the most corrupt politician since (insert first one you thought of here). I...do not care for it. #103: Another gym leader hits on Misty, and again it's super-uncomfortable. At least the battle's somewhat interesting, with dancing and a super-starfish that DOESN'T go out like a wet tissue for once. #104: Pikachu and Meowth spend the whole episode stuck on each other! Whatever friendship they develop comes out of nowhere and completely overrides the normal Rocket friendships! ...sigh... #105: Charizard FINALLY stops being a prat after suffering deep-freeze! #106: Squirtle wants to be an ace firefighter! There's NOTHING this season didn't foreshadow for later seasons and games! #107: Why does EVERY single episode with a Gloom in it wind up so utterly forgettable or utterly frustrating? Ugh! #108: The first ever double battle in the show's history! It's so easy to forget about that when we start out with yet another kaiju robot Pokemon that exhales tons of toxic smoke. #109: One of only two Tracey episodes and it's really about someone else. At least the second and last Pokemon watcher we'll ever see is amusing more than once. #110: A Misty-centric episode where she actually gets to be a competent battler AND compassionate towards her friends! We see another one of these in (beat) HOW long??? #111: Who needs a tournament when you can have a full six-on-six battle for the first time ever?! If only the animation and the champion's personality were there to back it up! #112: Who needs a tournament when you can have a war between dragons?!? Also...he won?! ASH ACTUALLY WON! #113: Lapras leaves...it's no Bye Bye Butterfree. Also: lame-ass pirates. #114: You know how I didn't think highly of the last Diglett episode? It was ASH CATCHES A POKEMON-CALIBER compared to this dreck! #115: It all builds up to the return of Gary, and with him and Ash finally going to battle...only to end on a cliffhanger! Urgh! #116: A mishmash of episode ideas after a complete letdown of a rival battle gets us back to a standard party status quo - with Brock back and Tracey departing to no fanfare - we're off to a new region! With the MacGuffin Ball still intact! Hoorah!

Anonymous

113: ♪The time has come, for some lame pirates, while saying goodbye to Lapras♪ 114: Team rocket tries to capture pokemon legally, but Electrode are not meant to be captured, not like this. At least we won't hear the Diglet chant for another 104 episodes.

Verdant Range

108: Time for the final gym battle where Ash goes up against a crazy hotel owning mamawama who teaches him a lesson in Advanced battle tactics.
