It's also weird for the narrator to ask if Ash has the hometown advantage against Gary when they both come from Pallet Town.

I know I'm commenting when you wrote the script quite awhile ago, but if you haven't chosen a stinger yet, have you considered the scene where Hulk meets up with Thor in Endgame? The whole being traumatized about a name seems like it fits well with that (unless you're going with Voldemort but it's been too long since I watched the HP movies to remember if there are a good instance that would work for a stinger).
