Hey guys, should probably keep you updated on stuff going on, it's been an exhausting week.

First of all, I'M SO SORRY FOR MISSING THE PATREON STREAM! It's been really hectic and it honestly slipped my mind. This week everyone $5 up can ask me up to two questions instead of one to make up for it. watch out for the post later in the week.

Second of all, there won't be a Watch Me Script this week, as I'm doing a Calling it Now and I don't want to spoil the answers or the surprise of what it is. I said in the last WMS that I would be doing one every week as I was trying to do a backlog, but circumstances have changed so I don't have to anymore.

What circumstances? Well last of all, as of next week I am removing my 1 week exclusivity with Channel Awesome, so the video waiting will simply be Patreon exclusive. Yay, a backlog! Why am I doing so? Well, for those not on twitter, a lot of really nasty grievances were once again brought to light regarding that site, and seeing them all together and realising how much I was just looking out for myself by saying nothing I can't rightly turn the other way anymore.

For a rough synopsis of all that's happened, either go to this compliation:
https://www.resetera.com/threads/the-long-drama-of-channel-awesome-doug-and-rob-walker-and-ceo-mike-michaud.29873/

Or if you've got a bit more time and want some jokes thrown in, check out the stream we did with Marzgurl:
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/239929516

Lastly, for any other pressing questions hit up marzgurl or lupa on twitter for any specific questions.

Please do not watch my videos on CA anymore, the only reason I haven't cut the last thread is because I want to leave simultaneously with someone else to make a bigger statement. Until then I'm doing the bare minimum.

Shame that things have gotten this bad. I remember hearing about some of the behind the scenes drama over the past few years, but I had hoped (possibly out of some naive optimism) that people had made amends by now.

Wow, I hadn't heard about all the CA drama. What a shame--I've been such a fan of that site for so long! I'm glad that most of you guys are dong well on your own terms now, via Patreon and your own YouTube accounts, and I'm glad I can keep supporting you all. I also wanted to say thank you for standing up and putting this out there; it can be so easy to just let things slide when you're (in this case literally) a long way from the center of the drama, but I appreciate your integrity.

Dang, the only ones I still watch on channel awesome are you, doug, linkara, snob, and the dom. But if things are as bad as you say then I'll just watch on youtube.

Wow, I knew the site was mismanaged but some of this is outright malicious. It's a shame because it was cool to have a community of creators but I'm glad we have services like Patreon now so creators don't have to rely on aggregate sites any more.

You're leaving with someone else? Who else is leaving?

One has to ask where to go in the event of a broken pedestal.

I've followed the CA drama for a long time and I'm happy to see you seperating from them. It must be strange being you were there at the very beggining.

Kinda makes me glad I stopped watching stuff on that site, sounds like it's all a mess. I hope your eventual departure is a smooth one

As one of the nicest people on Youtube i'm sure it wasn't easy to make this decision, but I do feel is was the right one. You can count on our support.

Does this mean the end of Linkara cameos?

Anonymous

Good for you, being ready to take a stand. I agree with your decision to wait; more people leaving at once makes a much bigger impact, hopefully with the result of people finally taking off the rose-colored glasses and realizing things have to change.

Well... This is the first I've heard of this drama. It does not sound fun at all. I don't really watch videos on CA anymore so avoiding the site completely won't be too difficult. It's a shame, really. I like Doug and Rob's videos and watch the NC regularly, but FORGETTING TO HAVE FOOD AND WATER FOR EVERYONE ON SET!? I had to organize a community service project when I was 13-14 in the Boy Scouts. We were clearing a walking trail for a local State park. You bet your shiny Entei that I made sure we had plenty of food and water for everyone. Keep in mind that this was a group of almost a dozen boys just starting or were right in the middle of puberty. With our appetites, we could swallow an entire large pizza slice in one or two bites! I kept them adequately fed. At the age of 13 (at the earliest)! You know you're incompetent when a freaking 13 year old has better logistical skills than you. Sorry if this sounds egotistical, I'm just blown away at the Disaster Artist levels of stupidity on the Walkers' part. Anyway, that's a smart move, waiting to leave with someone else. I hope things get better for all of the other creators on there.

Of course I'll still do cameos with Linkara. I'm still friends with and will keep teaming up with other producers! Me being on or off CA makes no difference, except probably with Doug XD

I'm really disappointed in Doug and Rob because I've been a fan of theirs for years, but I'm glad you guys are leaving Channel Awesome if this is how you've been treated. I'm definitely not going anywhere as one of your patrons, but I think I'm quitting CA and the Walkers now. (Sadly that's not a bold move on my part, as the last few years I've found more enjoyment with their vlogs than their actual reviews.)

I'll support you no matter what you do.

You definitely have my continued support.

More power to ya man, I've been extremely unhappy with how Michaud and the Walkers have been managing the website over the years. Honestly I still enjoy watching Doug's content but all of this stuff that has come to light since To Boldly Flee has just left a bad taste in my mouth. Most CA contributors I was keeping up with was via YouTube (or Patreon in your case) anyways.

I once told a good friend of mine: Channel Awesome brought you to my attention. You are the one who made me a fan. I'm telling you the same thing: Yes, I would never have gotten to know your stuff if you hadn't been on Channel Awesome. However, I watch you. I don't watch them to watch you, and I don't watch you because you are on them. I haven't been on CA in a long while. I watch everything directly from either people's websites (Diamanda and Brad) or from YouTube. Or directed from Patreon. :) I'm not going anywhere. I respect you and I support you. I like your stuff and I like you the person. :) I'd be lying if I said that Channel Awesome wasn't what exposed me to you, but if a crazy ex is the one who happened to introduce you to your best friend, then that best friend and you parting ways from said crazy ex doesn't change the relationship you have with that person.

Good luck man. This feels like the right thing to do all things considered.
